I live in Gainesville.  Let me know if your schedule will allow to get in some ride time.  Not a whole lot of fun roads around here, but it's still nice to get out and about.  There are a fair amount of Valk riders in Central FL that you will hopefully have an opportunity to meet.

Two warnings for when you are in Gainesville:

1.  It is hotter than Hades here.  Most people "summer" their bikes here instead of "wintering" them like the rest of the country.  It's not a problem if you don't mind sweating and you can keep hydrated.  But, being from Texas I'm sure you can relate.

2.  You will be arriving in the peak of when all the UF college kids return.  WATCH OUT!!!  Nothing like an influx of 50,000 teen and 20-something drivers to keep you on your toes.

Looking forward to hopefully meeting up with another Valk rider,

Kaiser

Let me know when you'll hit Sarasota/Bradenton if you come up I-75.
Hit it at lunch time and the burger's on me.
Safety Harbor should be a bit more than an hour away from here.
Lots of old timers (worse than me!) on this coast-just so you know, they don't see you when they are driving.
People retire to Sarasota so they can be close to their parents-who live in Venice (15 mi. south).

If you are taking I-10 into the panhandle of FL you will pass through my backyard.  I am at exit 56 (56 miles) into FL after crossing the FL/AL line.  I have space for another Valk in the Family Room and a couple extra beds if you need to pit stop.

Well the plan is I get off the boat around 6 am give or take and I will be heading East first gas stop hopefully around the Fla border give or take about hmmm 10am or so on the way back home I may drop in Chris thats about half way home.

Ricoman I might just take you up on the burger  cooldude.

Now the question is how is 70 if I come out of Tequesta and go up to Okeechobee on 710 to 70 over to Arcadia then 72 to 41 hows that sound or is that the no gas way LOL

But that route is only 170 miles well within the Fat Ladys range!!!

I ride that from time to time.  I like 70 west to 75 then 275.  Puts you across the skyway bridge where you can stop for some good pictures of the gulf.  Gas is not a worry.  Near sunrise/sunset watch for snakes/gators crossing the road.   Be ready for rain and heat.

Not sure of your time in PH but you might enjoy a shot of grease here.

Saturday night is a bike meet.  We go for the ride and get a burger then head back to NPR.   Enjoy.
