We had six riders Amy and Charles, John, Dave, Rainmaker and Speedo.

Five bikes including John on his Suzuki Boulevard made the run..

The weather was great, and we rode at a leisurely pace.

The sights (the landscape, the buildings, cattle, young and old, wild turkeys, the iron work on the gates) were interesting.

The road was great, nice smooth asphalt all the way, nice twisties and the traffic was minimal.

Everybody liked the route, and wouldn’t hesitate to ride it again.

The Dr. Pepper Museum was interesting and while we are glad we went, it's not a place you'd visit twice.

Then on to BBQ in Stephenville and the food at the “Hard Eight” was great.

There we met Sidecar and Wanderer, and had a leisure lunch.  Gary was on a Harley he had purchased that morning in Baird.

Then a straight shot up 377 back to Ft. Worth around 5PM.

Next ride is May 31st to Kellyville in East Texas for an Everywhere Texas photo.  If anyone knows a good place to eat in that vicinity, please let us know.

Great (sometimes aromatic) route to Dublin, fun people, spectacular weather, a bit of cane sugar-related history, and a full tummy.  Like Speedo said, "This is why I ride!"

All that fun and the best mileage I've ever squeezed out of the Rumble Bee.  Almost 45mpg from west Ft Worth to Stephenville (110 miles / 2.45 gallons to top-off).  Either those tourer bags act like a spinnaker or I must be getting some kind of sonic pulse jet effect from those straight pipes.  Almost makes them tolerable.  Almost...  Thank goodness for Big Ear ear plugs & ear phones.

Until I get used to having storage, please, everyone remind me.  I'm glad I still had my "I'm a Pepper" sticker on when I got home.  It proved I was actually in Dublin.  I was in minor trouble for not bringing any Dublin Dr Pepper back with me.  Guess I'll have to re-ride the route!  Did I forget on purpose subconsciously?

Looking forward to seeing everyone again on the 31st.  Re lunch, I nominate the Country Tavern for, you guessed it, BBQ.  I've never been there, but have heard about their ribs for years from my SO, east Texas native Janet.  It's on 31 between Tyler and Kilgore, closer to Kilgore.

The great gas mileage must have been due to the relaxed riding pace.  Stealth Bike got a little over 39 mpg, which is about 6 better than average.

There are many great roads to be found south of Weatherford, I've explored a few and plan on exploring all the rest.

The ride on Saturday was fun for all and it's hard to beat the selection of BBQ available at the Hard 8.

Amy and I enjoyed meeting everyone and look forward to attending more events.  Hope to see more Valks wandering around the Glen Rose area.
