Just putting this info up so it will be searchable for the future. I found most of the info using the search function myself before going to the store, but not everything. Here's my experience.

The Mitsubishi DC3 blank is widely recommended here on the board as a cheap and widely available replacement. It worked well for my Valk with the key code starting with an "A" (and also "B" is the same blank). As others have mentioned, your average hardware store guy will not believe that it will work since it is a car key, but it does work.

For my other Valk with the key code starting with "D" (and also "C" is the same blank), the DC3 would not have worked because the grooves are inverted or mirrored compared to the C/D Honda blank. Maybe there is a Mitsubishi blank that also is just the inverse of the DC3, but I didn't inquire because my store had a motorcycle blank that worked labeled "X138 HD75".

This was at my local hardware store, cost me $2.50 per key.
