The Twilight Zone

« on: August 02, 2010, 05:51:07 AM »

Hi, I seen a picture of some pegs/highway bars on a Valk that looked to be above or attached to the engine guard, I couldn't tell.

I am new to the Valk and have long legs which is becoming very uncomfortable on long rides.  The factory position is very unpleasant other than around town.

Anyone have any suggestions? I know there's a lot of tall people out there!!

Thanks  Smiley

There are several sets of Kuryakan pegs that are popular # 7966, #7976, #4050.  They have different mounting points as shown in the link below.  All are adjustable to multiple positions.  If you have really long legs...the #7966 might give you the most room since they mount on the forward curved section of the crash guard and can be positioned forward of the crash guard.  However, your foot positon will be wide.
Big Big parts also makes pegs that mount to the top portion of the curved engine guard.  In this case your feet sit above the engine guard.  Also shown in the link.

Have the same problem with Thorobred long legs, and haven't tried using the wide Kury Pegs that the previous owner put on the curved engine guard.  My question seems kind of dumb, but here goes.  Does the rider put both legs out at once or one at a time, and same question for bringing in those long heavy legs back in?

Show Chrome has a set of pegs on sale for a standard for $30.00 that mount on the engine guard.  Need to modify them a little if you have a Interstate due to the pods.  Change the location and with a little grinding you get the pegs out flat.

mick-o-pegs

but they are NOT for using in twisties and IMHO are easier to get used to with regular pegs and not floorboards   size 12-13 EEE feets

you can see how I did my highway pegs in this pic
