Just have a small honey do to do in the pm, today I worked a show with Bonnie after breaking my dad out of the hospital in Manhattan, he had 4 stents put in yesterday and actually WOKE up during the operation Shocked

he is a tough bird and never complained and hes feelin great now

Gman cant ride, visiting day, but a ride somewhere west or north of me could be ok

If Andy or you dont come up with something I will head over to Marcus Dairy in Danbury CT and say hello to the New England crew and do some riding in NW CT then head across to Harriman Park around lunchtime

You can call the house Nine14941three 947 if you have any ideas for a nice ride

I think we could do that ride, and then after we can all head out for some more miles without sticking around for the thrill show. Just a thought.

Hey andym,
The Dan Stocker you mentioned. Was he from the old Jersey Riders Cruiser Club? I used to ride with him and a bunch of other old coots around 2001-----Timberwolf and his buddy Johnnie was with us as well. If's its the same Dan---What happened?----Thanks PatC

Andy,

You need to click on the "notify" tab at the top of the post.

Pat C,

Dan passed away about 3 years ago. I used to chat with him on the VIOA board. He walked me thru the piggy-ectomy. Great gentlemen who is missed. I believe he passed from a heart attack, I know he and Andy were close and I am sure he knows more about it. Dan was a stand up guy.

Never met him, but just chatting with about Valks, I still miss his knowledge.

Dan  passed away in August 2007 ... I miss him more than words can say. Left a big hole . He was indeed a standup guy more than anyone knows . He did much volunteer work but never bragged about it , just did it quietly. He had a massive heart attack on his front lawn and was gone very quick which I thank God for.  angel I was absolutley crushed when I heard the news since we just came back from a ride to West Va and he looked great ...We never know when our time is up
That being said ......LETS all go for a ride here in NJ ........... Im free Sunday and Im in Jackson  Cool

On the ride to West Va we stayed at a B and B at the foothills of the mountain in a small town with Lloyd Dean. We sat around the living room and drank some brews that some Harley guys left us and talked about our families and life till the weeeee hours. A real male bonding trip with two great friends that will live on in my heart for ever. One of those specail moments in life  Cool

I want to relate a story about the VRCC..SOme of the guys here say things are not like the old days ..things have changed, etc . When I got stuck last year in Wildwood, several of the VRCCmemberes took over 3 hours to get my bike started and get me safely on my way home.
John Horton drove up to Jackson 72 miles each way .... 3 times to help me with my bike and more accurately I helped him and I didnt know at the time how bad his back was......

There are some really really nice folks in this club and in my opinion that really applies to the folks I met in NJ..................Im very proud to know every one of them ...all stand up guys....

....everything is relative Andy. ...my experience with the jersey Chapter was around 2002.....I moved out of state in 2004.....John Horton is a good friend of mine....just spoke with him on the phone last week......I couldnt agree more with your impression of him....and I cant emphasize enough....how much we ALL hope that this temporary set back with his back...is remedied as soon as possible to his own personal satisfaction.....and he is back in the wind with his wife Denise and all his friends..  cooldude

Timbr, yes I am a Rulli brother. John, Paul and Bob are all riding. Paul is very active in the Richmond chapter of the Star Riders. We all recently did a western Maryland trip together. Been trying to get out of Jersey for the last 2 years but the housing market has us trapped.

Timbr--I lurk out here on the boards ---still enjoy your posts!--- the riding in the UP/Mich. is far superior to dodging the AC casino bound  or Jersey shore crazies we deal with. But we still have New Hope/Frenchtown and rides thru northwestern Joisey into the Pocono's and over to NY etc. ----We had some fun in Freehold for the monthly Cruise Nights eh? Best regards to Chilli---
Andym/BigRigDH----thanks for the info regarding Dan---he was quite a guy----had many breakfasts with him and KC --Jesh ---Stan---Frank---at the Clarksburg Inn before a long ride .  I looked forward to the start of the riding season to see what color Dan had the bike painted over the winter!---
Jesh--- I guess we are the last of the VRCC/NJ/OOC ----NJ Offical Old Coot Division----LOL

Yes I did quite a few breakfast at the Clarksburg Inn with Dan and Davetta

The main building the burned down last year.....I look back very fondly to those breakfast with Dan.

Hey Jesh a joint ride to Catskills or Adirondaks sounds great . I love Lake GEorge best . We could charter a boat for a fishing trip . I have been there at least 20 times and still love it.

Mid to late September sounds good

Well its cold as hell out so Im dreaming of a long warm ride with some of the my friends from the VRCC and VOA. Im hoping that John Horton is better and able to ride. He is still going thru some rough times. Maybe after this snow clears up a bit and the temps rise a bit we will all feel a bit happier and closer to riding season. Oh well I just need to add the progressive shocks and springs and my bike is done LOL  (heard that before) OK post some thoughts for spring rides :-)

Andy,

Glad to see you are posting...this has been the winter from 4377...I still have the white stuff on my lawn from December with about 16 new inches on it now. I would think after this stuff all melts away, the southern end of the Delaware River is going to have more salt in it than the ocean!!! tickedoff

More snow for tonight with the promise of rain all day tomorrow...I would kill for a 40 degree day and no salt on the road...

Sorry no pictures of bikinis to post...

How is your health? I hope well...

Stay warm and spring will be here soon (I hope)
