Met a young friend that I worked with in Silver City, NM. She just started riding and has a 600 Shadow.  We both worked for a lady vet and went down to Silver City and stayed with the vet over night.  Had a great ride and, of course, got pretty wet both days we rode.

I have never seen that area so GREEN.  The cows and horses are belly deep in grass.

DDT do you remember when we rode down there several years ago????  Had a great time.

My friends little Shadow had a hard time keeping up with the big Valk, but we got along just fine.  She target fixated on a cornor and went down, but just broke her windscreen and only bruised her leg.  Popped up and was ready to go before I could even get my bike parked on the side of the road.

We went up to Glenwood and took the hike up to the CATWALK in WhiteWater Canyon.  It was warm and since my boots innerlining is torn at the heel I have blisters on both heels.  OUCH, but I made the hike and in better shape than my young friend.  I think she is younger than my son.  Woooooooooo HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Old ladies rule.

Have a great day everyone

I seem to recall you and I getting rained on too on that scooter trek! I also remember the many other rides we shared. You showed me a side to New Mexico I wouldn't have otherwise seen, and I do appreciate it. Did you and your new friend stop for 'pie'? Yet another nice aspect of touring with you!!!   Cool

DDT

P.S. In case you're wondering, the answer is YES! I do still ride with a sheepskin like the one you introduced me to... once upon a ride...   cooldude

I went back and reread your post and was thinking....

DDT is riding with the sheepskin and remembers the pie and the gloves I am wearing in the Avatar with the shaved cow are the ones we traded in Tucemcari.  They fit great and got me through most of the riding that year - best pair I ever had.

You know, for such a large club, this is also a small club.  cooldude cooldude cooldude

You got it right STRIDER.  For such a LARGE club it is pretty small.  WE are all brothers and sisters aren't we?

Keep the rubber side down everyone.
