Last Sunday (the 8th) me and my other half Tina jumped on the bike and rode down to Somerset.
I had to be careful on the major roads, cars that were overtaking me would match my speed just to have a look at the bike and trailer, but the knobs would sit in my blind spot, before I pulled out to overtake something I would have to double check and check again over my shoulder to see if anything was there.I had to shut the throttle on several occasions because of this.I even had cars drifting into my lane because the were having a good ole gander at the bike.
We set up the tent and went off and came back with a Chinese meal, ate that and then snuggled down for the night.
On the Monday we got up,packed the tent away, loaded the trailer and continued our journey to Lands End,the first campsite we tried was full, but he did manage to find us a spot,we were just about to get the tent out when Tina went to phone the kids and found she had no signal on her mobile, mine was the same.We decided to find another site as we couldn't be out of contact with the kids.
Found a great site about 5 miles from lands end, very peaceful and quiet, set up the tent and stayed for 3 nights.
Monday night was wet, very wet.It rain constant throughout the night and was still chucking it down when we got up on Tuesday, opened the tent to see,,,,,nothing,it was throwing it down with rain and thick fog too.Come 11 o'clock the rain had eased a bit, still foggy we made the decision to go out anyway.Took the coast road from Lands End to St Ives, couldn't see much of the scenery but the twisty road was a bit of a challenge, got to St Ives and it was completely clear, the sun was out,the sky was blue, brilliant.
I had my first proper Cornish Pasty Tongue  of the week, sat on the harbour wall, very nice it was too.We then treated ourselves to a Cornish icecream made with double clotted cream, mine went down a treat,Tinas was stolen. She had a lick, looked out at the beach and with a flap of wings a bloody seagull had taken the lot, just left her with an inch of cone.
Stopped at Penzance on the way back to the campsite to pick up a few supplies, got back to the tent, fired up the BBQ and slapped a couple of rump steaks on it,had them with boiled potatoes, peas, carrots, mushrooms and salad.

We got up Wednesday,we climbed aboard the Valk and rode up to Perranporth, lovely biking weather, blue skies and warm, had a wander around the town, had some lunch, more icecream before riding up a steep hill up the cliffs where the view was fantastic. We then rode back to St Ives to take the coast road to Cape Cornwall and from there to Lands End and to Sennen Cove, all fantastic places.Back to the tent for some chicken wraps before bed.

On Thursday we got up,packed all the gear up and headed back for Somerset, before leaving I bolted on the video camera and took some film of the coast road(if I can work out how to get it onto my comp I will post it),arrived in Brean at around 6ish,set the tent up,got sorted and headed for Weston Super Mare where we were told that had a "bike night" on the beach front.Considering the evening was a tad chilly, there were loads of bikes, stayed for a couple of hours and picked up a curry on the way back to the tent.Lets just say that Tina wasn't too happy inside the sleeping compartment

Friday came, got up to sunshine and headed over to Cheddar Gorge, thought I would video the ride up the gorge before it rained, fixed the camera to the bike and it started raining, but anyway got some film. The sun then came back out when I packed the camera away.Stayed in the gorge til late afternoon then decided to go have a walk along the beach at Brean,on the way back it hammered down with rain so stopped at an amusement arcade instead.

Early Saturday morning it started raining again, typical as we were heading back home.I had to re-arrange how I packed the trailer so that the outer part of the tent was put into a travel bag and strapped to the back of the bike coz it was very wet.We got back home at 6 o'clock on Saturday having been from one side of the country to the other and covered just short of 1300 miles,I've got to say it was the best trip out on the bike yet and just what we needed after the year we've had so far.
Roll on the South of France next year.

Thanks for posting, looks like a great trip. You have some real nice photo's, I particularly like the one of your Valkyrie in the gorge cooldude
PS...Are those European tank badges/emblems readily available to you? I've been looking and can't find them, even on Evil-Bay.
