I know, I try to avoid political discussions, as much as religious ones but this one bothered me. mainly, the fear that it might come true. Last night (actually yesterday afternoon ‘cause I’m on the night shift this week) I had a dream that obama was reelected to a second term!! In my dream I tried to understand how in the world this could possibly happen, the answer; no one ran against him!! Turns out that with all the complaining that the right winged radio talk show hosts do, made everyone disgusted with the whole election process, making good honest people not want to campaign against the incumbent. Made them all afraid of having their names dragged through the mud. Little old skeletons being pulled out of their closets from long ago. Things like that. So, who is the next campaign going to include? Hopefully not that palin chick!! Can’t stand listening to her!! Although her daughter has some huge cans on her, hopefully she’ll pull that shirt off and pose for larry flint!! Can’t be McCain, he’s stuck in Arizona, trying to defend his governor. Arnold isn’t American, too bad that accent gives him away!!! Who do you thing the republican nominee will be??? I personally hope it’s someone with a brain this time. We haven’t had a good president for quite a while.

Newt is a brilliant man and would be a strong leader, but the simple truth of the matter is that he has too much baggage. He had an extramarital affair while he was divorcing his wife who was dying of cancer. This was all happening while Republicans were criticizing Bill Clinton for his imbroglio with Ms. Lewinsky. Granted this would not be an issue for a liberal candidate, but conservatives are held to a higher standard by the mainstream media. Possibly the biggest hinderance to Newt, in spite of his brilliance, he can't seem to get the financial backing he needs for a viable run a the presidency. His only salvation is that possibly the American people have come to expect less from their chief executive (and politicians in general).

Physicians rarely capture the big prize in politics. If you spend 30 years of your life studying to make the grade in the competive field of medicine, it leaves little time to hone your skills in the art of bullshit....which is what the american public demand from their candidates. There have been exceptions such as Bill Frist, Tom Coburn and most notably Howard Dean who have managed to get center stage on the national scene...with the exception of Dean none have been able to satisfy the public's appetite for manure over the long haul.

Regardless of the marital infidellity, Newt would be the strongest contender and if his spin doctors did it right, only the democrats would be concerned about it.

Paul Ryan from Wisconsin, He gets no press because he actually has a plan, not a line of bull, and he is a stand up guy with NO BAGGAGE, but because of that he will not get the nomination. Jim

Obama is by far the best candidate in 2012. But, for the berzerkers who might think otherwise, I offer you this.
THE NIGHTMARE
In the nightmare I found myself nude in bed, and I was looking at a mirror on the ceiling, and I discovered that I am a Black Man, and I'm circumcised!
Quickly I sat up, found my pants and looked in the pockets to find my driver's license photo and it was that same color, black.
I felt myself being very depressed, downcast, sitting in a chair.
But it's a wheelchair!
That means, of course, besides being black and Jewish, I'm also disabled! I said to myself, aloud 'This is impossible! It's impossible that I should be black and Jewish and disabled!'
'It's the pure and holy truth', whispers someone from behind me.
I turn around, and it's my boyfriend.
Just what I needed!!! I am a homosexual, and on top of that, with a Mexican boyfriend.
Oh, my God .... Black, Jewish, disabled, gay with a Mexican boyfriend, drug addict, and HIV-positive!!!
Desperate, I begin to shout, cry, pull my hair, and Oh, nooooo...I'm bald!!!
The telephone rings. it's my brother. He is saying, 'Since mom and dad died, the only thing you do is hang out, take drugs, and laze around all day doing nothing. Get a job, you worthless piece of crap... Any job!'
Mom? Dad? Nooooo ... Now I'm also an unemployed orphan!
I try to explain to my brother how hard it is to find a job when you are black, Jewish, disabled, gay with a Mexican boyfriend, are a drug addict, HIV positive, bald, and an orphan, but he doesn't get it.
Frustrated, I hang up. It's then I realize I only have one hand!!! With tears in my eyes, I go to the window to look out. I see I live in a shanty-town full of cardboard and tin houses! There is trash everywhere.
Suddenly I feel a sharp pain near my pacemaker.... Pacemaker??
Besides being black, Jewish, disabled, a fairy with a Mexican boyfriend, a drug addict, HIV positive, bald, orphaned, unemployed, an invalid with one hand, and having a bad heart, I live in a crappy neighbourhood.
At that very moment my boyfriend approaches and says to me, 'Sweetie pie, my love, my little black heartthrob, have you decided what you are going to wear to Washington to see Obama?”
Say it isn't so!!! I can handle being a black, disabled, one armed, drug-addicted, Jewish homosexual on a pacemaker who is HIV positive, bald, orphaned, unemployed, lives in a slum, and has a Mexican boyfriend, but please,
Oh dear God, please don't tell me I'm a Democrat.

I look for Mitt Romney to give it honest effort. I think he saw that there was no way in hell Obama would lose the election in 2008 so he backed out. This time it will be different.
I also think Newt Gingrich would be a cursed good president, but unfortunately he has too much baggage. I don't even think he would win the nomination....what a shame.

Since when does the candidate's moral background disqualify him(her) from being a likely candidate.
Only when that candidate (or their party) hammers on “family values” or religious morals.

SE, now that's funny!! that did make me laugh!! politics suck, i don't care if you're a democrat, or a republican, what gets me mad is when they put their personal goals ahead of the nations. (and they're both guilty of it!)

Mike Huckabee
+1. And I'm a registered Democrat. Full disclosure here. I'm from Texarkana (Texas side) and have had the honor of being worship leader in the same pulpit where Mike was a guest pastor. Even so, I wasn't especially ready to see him in the Governor's office when he ran. (I grew up in Gillett Arkansas.) But his record was one of compassionate pragmatism. I don't agree with him on every issue, but I don't see the mean spirited disdain for non-wasps so prevalent in the rest of the Republican party. I think Mike would be a fantastic President. I seriously doubt he could get the Republican nomination. He's entirely too reasonable and compassionate.
On another note, I was a McCain fan from the 2000 campaign. Palin was the deal breaker for me with him.

If O'Bummer and his merry band of Incompetents keep going the way they are, it will take a Military Coup to get them out, since they sure as hell don't care about the "will of the voters". Either that or there will be no country left to become President of!
