trigger wheel

Was wondering which trigger wheel would be best for my 1998 tourer. The 6 degree or the 4 degree. Mostly would like to get better fuel mileage extra power would be a added bounes. Thanks for any info.

I have heard that the 4 degree wheel is for the IS and the degree wheel is for the Standard/Tourer.

Si,

The six degree wheel is the way to go.

I've the six on my Interstate with no problems although I do run premium fuel.

I'd say it gets me around a couple extra MPG's.

best thing is to mod the stock one to gain the 6 degrees. Did this to mine. there are pics and measurements in the archives.

Is there an easy way to tell if the bike has a 4 or 6d trigger wheel? Previous owner doesn't know, and I really don't want to buy one if it's already there...

Nope
gotta take it apart to get to the wheel. It will have a 4 or 6 stamped on the outer face but that's hidden behind the crankshaft pulley and plate.
