What is the preferred aftermarket Saddlebag for the Valk?
At present I have a set of Leatherlykes on it that I took off of my VTX that I was planning on selling but my wife has been riding it so I may keep it since it is paid for. So the Leatherlykes will be going back on the VTX.
Of coarse the money from the sale was suppose to go toward my Valk but I would rather be in debt and her happy on a trip than money in the bank and her not happy. I am sure all you married guys can understand that. Besides I really didn't want to sale the VTX anyway.
Anyway.... Back to my question. I have been trying to decide between the Tsukayu Jumbo Strong Bags and painting them to match the bike or the Leatherlykes which would be about $300. cheaper.
Is there any other brand that y'all could recommend?
Thanks, Tom

Go with the tsukayu, unless money is a big factor, they look a lot like the OEM bags. hoser

the tsukayu bags look good and are on a lot of bikes. If you want something more like a home made tourer then that is what you'd want. And a clearview windshield!

Very happy with the Tsukayu bags I had on my Standard. They have since been sold to another Valk rider. You can't go wrong with them as far as I'm concerned. My website, with some info and pictures of my former setup: http://www.valkyrieguy.com/tsubags.htm

I am extremely happy with my Tsukayu bags. Hands down the best bag purchase for me. I've tried three others. They look great and are functional. You can buy three sets of these, for the price of used factory bags and mounting hardware. Just yesterday, I cleaned my rear wheel and changed out the gear oil, they can be taken off in just minutes! I purchased mine from http://www.valueaccessories.net/ They are in the USA and stock them painted or primered, they are a Mom & Pop Valkyrie owner who give outstanding customer service. No affilliation, just pleased with their service.

I went from Leatherlykes to Tsukayu some years ago and love the hard bags. They look great and are very well made. As someone else already stated they are close to the original look and LOTS cheaper then a used pair of originals would cost you. Hef

Thanks for all the quick responses, recommendations and links!
The overwheelming choice is the Tsukayu. so which is the better fit the STRONG or the JUMBO STRONG?
Does the JUMBO STRONG require relocating the turn signals?

I would go to the link I posted above for the particulars. I haven't been on their web-site in over a year, but if you call they are extremely helpful. I don't know about the jumbo's firsthand, as I have the "strongs". The jumbo's will hold more, but look a little goofy. Depends on what your looking for. They also will give you the inner and outer dimensions. I would suggest getting the upgraded Valkyrie style latch. Also try this link, http://www.tsukayu.com/ but I would not order from this link, cause then you will be ordering direct from Japan, and you will WAIT for your order!

Tundra, Thanks, I looked at that site and was wondering about the latch. It looks different than the on on the Tsukayu site. They do have better prices. Thanks. Tom

I just mounted a set of Tsukayu bags on my wife's Harley FatBoy and they are much better quality than expected. They were ordered through a local bike shop [which cost no more] and were delivered sooner than promised / had them color matched and for the money, they work as promised. I had to relocate the turn signals on her bike, but I don't think your valkyrie would require the change.

Rocky's seats and saddlebags made mine 5 years ago and i love them. lots of room and can be made in 6,7 or 8 inch wide. it is a covered hardbag. a bit pricey but well worth it. he can also recover your seat to match or match your bags to you current seat coverings. 559-456-3760 ask for R ocky

Boss are made really well and are extremely functional but they are leather on top of hard fiberglass so not the option if you wanted painted hard bags.
