You can spray liquid wrench, wd40, penetrating oil up in the shocks and use a strap wrench to try and break them loose and turn them, but I have to tell you that #3 on std shocks is likely as cushy as you can/should go for two up.

Can she straighten out her legs by laying them on your knees? Kits knees hurt occasionaly but she will put both legs straight out on my knees. Works for about 20 miles. Plus I can massage her feet for her! Man I sound whipped. Not a chance... My wife was in a car wreck in '97. F'd her up bad. She has an artificial hip, and is having trouble with a tendon catching on the hardware. She's going in to have that tendon "clipped" on 9-20. Hopefully it will help he lift her leg. Right now she can't at all. She's already got 11 screws and a bolt in her foot, and all the joints in her foot are fused, plus, she needs a knee replaced as well. I am married to the bionic woman! My wife is 5' 10" tall so I moved the rear pegs forward about 3inches and down about an inche to help her be able to stretch out a bit. She also puts her legs up on my legs sometimes to straighten out, but only on superslab out in the boonies with no traffic arround us. She will also use my pegs if I've using highway pegs.

We did about 400 miles yesterday with her on the new Ultimate passenger seat. She loved it. After every bump, I'd ask her if it bothered her and each time she'd say no. Can't believe something so simple could make such a big difference. Wish I would have tried that before I bought the Wing for the long rides.
Still might try something with the shocks if I can decide which ones to try. That one takes more work to install and I doubt if they are as willing to take returns as the Ultimate folks were.
Thanks again, everyone, for your suggestions.

Assuming the I/S shocks give a little softer ride, anyone know if there is a down side to putting them on a Tourer?
The I/S shocks won't give a softer ride. It will be a stiffer ride. I put them on my standard for that reason. The I/S is a little heavier, so the shocks are a little stiffer to handle the extra weight. Just my experience with them. Tim

My wife definitely enjoys the ride of the Ultimate setup on the Interstate better than the Tourer. Comfort for her has been solved, now if I could just find comfort me. Lord knows I love my wife dearly....however on a long ride such as the one up to Bellaire this summer...this is the drone that I heard for 1200 miles...
"I'm hot....are you hot?" "I need to stop and get something to drink" "Your too close to the center line, why don't you get in front of (so and so) so they can ride near the center line" "I have to go pee" "Did you hear me?" "Can you turn around so I can go back and get a picture of that barn?" 'Why aren't you answering me?" "Are you hungry?.....I'm hungry." "I don't want to eat there" "The sun is in my eyes....is the sun in your eyes?" "I don't like this helmet, it's too tight" "I don't like this helmet, it's too loose" (She has had 3 different helmets in the past 5 years) "I'm cold...are you cold?" "Can you hear me? Why are you not answering me?"
Of course any of you guys that ride 2-up with your significant others obviously know that I was not exaggerating.
That having been said, I very much enjoy her company on these trips (at least for the first 300 miles)!

Hi John...if you are considering going to a different shock ...and are looking at progressive shocks then I would recommend the 440 hd shock...plus change out the front fork springs for better handling and smoother ride...if you wish to try a set of stock interstate shocks I have aset I would borrow you if you wish...just let me know and we can set something up...

this is the drone that I heard for 1200 miles...
I heard plenty of that for some years too. Then I taught her to ride her own bike and it diminished, and I would not get us bike-to-bike radios either. Then she took her show on the road for good (hallelujah).
Hydrocodone (Vicodin)..... slip her one or two in the am coffee, and let her sleep the whole day. That or a fully enclosed, lockable sidecar. Hahahahahahaha (choke).

LOL Jim thats funny! Thats what was good about me wearing helmets with the X back in the day. Now that we're lidless, I turn up the music. Kit rarely makes a fuss tho unless she needs to smoke. Like I tell Kit "loud wives loose lives!"

Jabba Jabba, The intercom is also underutilized on my IS as well . Got a feeling it will stay like that. Hey Jim, when I read your post I laughed out loud. Of course, my wife asked what was so funny. I thought quickly and said, "Oh nothing honey". No reason to start a discussion I figured!
