Here's one thread for all Natchez Trace Ride participants so they can let us all know they made it home safely. I'm home, had a great time, good ride and unbelievable gas mileage on the trip... Real easy to do when you run 50 mph for 444 miles... Dave

Since Strider and I both posted yesterday, I'll announce both of us both of us getting home. I rolled in about 7:40 last night. It was great to renew friendships and make new ones.

Hey y'all...
After we split up I rode a bunch of good roads (parts of 30 in Tn. is as good as any road) I made it to Cleveland Tn, and stopped for the night.
First I stopped at the Days Inn... as I was looking around, wondering what I had gotten myself into, a crazy lady who said she was from the Russian Mafia came out of her room and cursed at me and sprayed windex at me.
Now I'm on the other side of the Interstate at a Comfort Inn, where it is apparently safe for children, and they have flat screen TeeVees... the Valkyrie is parked next to a nice BMW bagger.

I am back on the boat and I also thank Joe and everyone envolved for one of the best rices I have ever participated in. Were It not for Joe and this ride, I would not likely have ridden the entire(almost) length of the Trace. I left early because I wanted to stop by Rienzi, MS, which was just up the road 10mi. I worked, at one time for the Wurlitzer Piano & Organ company, and they had a plant there. Leaving , without letting Joe know bothered me all the way home(and still does, I ask forgiveness, Joe and hope it caused not much concern as some of the crew saw me pull out of the parking lot of the restaurant across the street from the one someone told me was the congregating point for today's breakfast and ride home. I jumped the gun and told the crew at the Huddle House that we would breakfast there. That was totally on me and I will try to learn from that(but I had a fine meal of their Southern B&G with sausage & hash browns w/gravy.)
I also want to add this: I totally enjoyed the group ride and would do more of the same. I did not realize how much concentration(even from past group rides) that it takes to not run into someone else in front of you or stay out of someones way that is behind you in a group. So much scenery is lost! The ride back, alone, on the Trace, was peaceful and astonishing! I could poke along and see a lot more....I will post some pics that maybe you folks missed. I would, most likely never have stopped by Windsor Ruins had it not been for Joe's (& his bud's effort). Again, I thank you guys....
Joe, I'm sorry I missed the introduction to "KY's finest, but I am still fightin' off the cold I caught last Wednesday. Will try to be better prepared next time.
I will add that I, strongly disagree, with BoBo's thoughts about us losing this family association.

DDT & Napper made it home all safe 'n sound yesterday afternoon... but I'm just now getting on the board. We had an incredible time! This was Napper's first 'road trip' to speak of, so she was a little apprehensive... Everyone there made her feel most welcome and at ease... and once I learned to slow down a bit, she became quite comfortable with long distance motorcycle travel. I reckon we'll be doing much more of this!
Joe and Alan did a marvelous job with this outing... I know, just like always, right! Thanks, guys, it truly was great. So great, in fact, I'm gonna have to post later on about it, ona counta my typin' finger is already gettin' tired here...
