Puncture slime - Ride On

A year ago I put on new Avon Cobras onto completely clean wheels and poured in RIDE ON puncture prevention fluid. I noticed recently that both tires were losing pressure round the rim, the rear one quite bad losing 5lb a week, so I took the wheels to a local tire shop. The guy there said that he constantly repairs this sort of problem and it doesn't seem to matter what type of Slime, Ride On etc is used. When he took the tire off, the wheel was a mess of corrosion that was causing the leak - not fatal but it needed cleaning up and the tire re-seated using a rim sealer.
So my question is..has anyone used a puncture slime that they have seen does not corrode the wheel when they next changed the tire after a reasonable period?

I've used the Ride-On brand material for about three years not and through a set of tire changes.  I have had no problems with corrosion or mess.  In fact, the tire change folk didn't even notice it was in the tire as it had coated the inner area of the tread and stayed there (as advertised: http://www.ride-on.com/)

Are your wheels chrome plated?  Usually the sealants are only a problem on chrome plated wheels.  The copper wash that coats the alloy so that the chrome will stick is the problem.  The copper corrodes and takes the alloy with it, causing a big mess, destroying the rim and causing air loss.
