I had a close call riding to work this morning! Idiot in a Toyota SUV was playing with his phone or something other that driving and started to drift into my lane. I started showing down and moving as far right as I could without hitting the grass. He just kept coming and was completely in my lane before he finally woke up and swerved back into his. I layed on the airhorn as well, but I'm not sure if he heard it or just looked up in the nick of time.  Another split second and I would have had to take the ditch to keep from being hit head on.  Angry  tickedoff

I have a suggestion for where to store the phone, but I will keep it to myself for the moment.    Lips Sealed

Y'all be careful out there 'cause that phone call/text msg is much more important than your life!!!!    Roll Eyes tickedoff

The idiot SUV driver didn't react to it apparently. I followed this one little chickie here in Orlando, she and her small pickup truck was all over the road and when I tried passing her in traffic it got so tight I backed off. She did have her window open and the phone was on her left ear, so when we finally hit a light I decided to do something about it. Got off the bike, walked up and grabbed the phone and tossed it in the back of her truck....then yelled at her to HANG UP AND DRIVE BEFORE YOU KILL SOMEONE!  She started to get out of the truck, screaming at the top of her lungs, but all the traffic around us was hooting and yelling, honking their horns and applauding me. She shut up and got back in her truck and took off....right through a red light. It was a good day.  Evil

My tank Air Horn on the Trike has woke a few of them up.   It gets their attention real quick.

The Rivco air horn, the striebler (sp), and also my BF quads have maybe woke up 10% of them.

In town, when I see one on the phone, I pull up along side of them, drop the bike into 2nd gear or even into 1st and run along be side them cranking on the R's.     My old glass paks, and or my Viking pipes will really talk.   They try to speed up, I stay there, they slow down I still stay right beside them.

Had one lady honk at me and wave her phone, I shut the noise down, looked at her and she said I'm trying to talk on the phone.   I said, then park it till you are done or I'll be right here beside your window, she hung up.....

I started carrying 3 small stones in my left hand pocket. They get the drivers attention.

Penny's work well, stones may be considered premeditated. Officer I was simply digging in my pocket when some change accidentally flew out. Grin

Old spark plugs and 1/2 inch bolts work well, too.

I was too busy trying to get out of his way to have time to "drop" anything off the bike.

At one point I seriously considered getting a (illegal) cell phone jammer with a short range and installing it on my bike...

But then I got to thinking, what could possibly be worse than an inattentive driver in a 7,000 pound SUV yakking on their cell phone? And I realized the answer... An inattentive driver in a 7,000 pound SUV who's call just dropped and is fiddling with their phone trying to figure out what happened...

...I've still toyed with the idea of getting one and putting a momentary button on the handlebars so I could selectively turn it on as needed...

Usually that stuff is reserved for tailgaters...

An interesting idea!  Would it be hard to have this thing stick to a car at 75 MPH?!   Shocked
