I recently changed the front pads on my '99 IS.  One side was almost gone, the other was still decent.  Have you noticed one side wearing more/faster than the other?

Thanks for the advice, both pistons were free however, and there was no indication of brake drag prior to the change.

I just did front and rear. Bought from my local shop for I think about $75 for all three sets.
And somebody must do some serious down shifting. 78k, wow, and I'm on my second set I've replaced in the front and 1st replacement for the rear at 44k.

check that the caliper slide pins are freely moving. I always use a light coat of anti-sieze on them. check that the disk float buttons (probably wrong term for them) are not slighty corroded, thereby preventing the disc from floating.

Mine wore very even and were worn out at 20,500 miles.  I must be stopping more than accelerating.

Looks like you could have gotten a couple more stops out of those pads on the left.  Grin Grin  That's what I like to see, replacement when needed!

Make sure the slides are free sometimes they bind and cause wear.
