I’m no attorney, but I think the news article has misunderstood the situation.  It states that Gov. Brewer asked the court to prevent foreign governments from joining the lawsuit against Arizona.  The foreign countries listed have been allowed to file “friend of the court” briefs, which doesn’t enjoin them into the suit.  It just allows them to file information relevant to the suit, which the court can consider or ignore.

Foreign opinion should not be allowed in the court system.  Sure they want Arizona to fall before the other states start doing the same because their out of work citizens come here to the US and send our money back to their respective countries boosting their economies.    They can take their opinions and stick'em where the sun don't shine.

I find it incomprehensible that the court would even consider accepting the "friend of the court" filings from a foreign nation in a domestic case.
Filing an "amicus curiae" is (should be) allowed, if it brings, to the court, information not already brought by parties to the case. In theory, it is brought by "someone who is not party to the litigation, but who believes that the court's decision may effect it's interest". (William Rehnquist, The Supreme Court, page 89)
Obviously the Latin American nations filing the briefs feel their "interests" will be effected.
The interests of all of us who pay countless millions to care for the illegals will also be effected. This does not appear to matter to those who spend. It dam_ sure should matter to those of us who come up with the money.
Filing a brief allows the "friend" to join the lawsuit as an interested party. It does not mean they join the suit as either plaintiff or defendant.
I have an opinion that Ms Brewer will be unsucessful in stopping acceptance of these briefs. I also believe the brief filed by the "Immigration Reform Caucus"  (signed by 80 members fo Congress) will not be allowed for some obscure reason.
I want to be proven wrong on this - but, I fear we as a nation have gone beyond reason.
This will be one more (albeit large) example of the erosion of our rights.

Read the comments. This is real popular with us unwashed masses. Dont go to Organ Pipe NATIONAL park. The coyotes and smugglers will kill you and feed you to the coyotes.
Its either time for covert ops by the gov or concerned civilian types with knowledge and ability.
