A while back one of my colleagues said to me, "I'm beginning to regret that I didn't let you delete it when you first wanted to.

I've take a week to think about it and that's close enough for me.  It's gone.

My view is that the occasional picture of an attractive woman (or man) within the context of normal conversation on the board is just the way it is.  An entire thread of links to this and that website for the sole purpose of dancing around the boundary of near nudity is simply not within the scope of the purpose of this board.

Besides, I'm tired of wasting my time checking to see whether someone has crossed the line.

Fun is fun, and it's stopped being that for me.

Life is to short to worry about something so simple. Boys will be boys. Nobody makes anyone look at things they don't want to see. Just the way i feel and i see so much on this board that i don't want to read, so guess what. I don't read it but i would not stop anybody from reading or saying whatever they want.

I guess Doc's boobie thread was just growing to fast to keep up with.  For all you fans who like
a little scenery now and then most of the thread pic's are also at the "Bikes and Babes" thread
and the "Babe Thread . . ." over at SOHC4 ... Single Over Head Cam 4.

There is no nudity, but the moderator is not as prudish as some other Motorcycle sites.

Hey Ghost...I am truly not wanting to start a fight but there is a group of people that HAVE to read every thread that is posted on this forum.  That is the moderators of the forum.  They can not turn a blind eye to any thread.  I have been in their shoes before on another forum and it is a dirty and often thankless job.

While I almost never turn away a sexy woman (picture), this isn't the forum for it.  There are plenty of other places that either are geared towards that stuff or allow it.

Moderators...I applaud you for your efforts.

Heck, ya'll know me.  Their sandbox, their rules.

I have not hit that thread in weeks.  I always noticed it there... but like others said... there are better (read more efficient) places to find that stuff if that's what you're after.

NBD either way.

All things considered, I think this was the right call for the reasons that were mentioned.  On a personal note, I have to admit that I enjoyed many of the photos.  However it became clear that this thing was getting out of hand.

Last week I joked about one of the photos saying that "it came right up to the line of decency and barely stuck it's nose over the line.....almost".  I soon got an email from an individual "thanking me" for alerting the administrators to the photo.  Rather than beleaguer the point, I simply deleted the post.  However, it became obvious to me that this individual had way too much time on their hands and furthermore had way too much of an emotional investment in this thread.

Hopefully both the administrators and some of the posters can get on with more pressing matters....such as safety chrome for their bikes!

I was surprised that it took this long to delete. I looked at that thread several times.  I looked at it the first time it was put up and I did see some nudes before the admins could delete them. Come on guys you know the rules. Just because the Admins are away does not open the door to pushing it. Besides,I am fairly sure you can find those pics on a lot of other sites. My hats off to the admins....

I am sad that this thread has disappeared but understand the reason why.

However, I personally find the religious and political threads 'offensive' / 'inappropriate' for a motorcycle board. so maybe they can all be removed too.

IMHO if this board is going to be censored then all posts that aren't about Valkyries ought to be removed. I doubt it will happen though.

Your reading more into it than what was said.  I am not sure I know what a "scantily" woman is.

Definition of SCANTY
: limited or less than sufficient in degree, quantity, or extent
— scant·i·ly\ˈskan-tə-lē\ adverb
— scant·i·ness\ˈskan-tē-nəs\ noun

I don't think that I like scantily women    Grin

Brad you make a good point....I did unabashedly insert "clad" into the discussion!  I'm not sure I know what a "scantily" woman is either.  However Fudgie is a well traveled biker, possibly he knows something we don't!  Undecided

I thought we were adults here and a few good looking woman, I might add, most were on

motorcycles.

Had some good historical pictures of woman riding, when woman weren't supposed to.

But I think and believe it to be true that when I said something about it being a record

breaker with a phenomenol amout of reads.

I jinxed it by saying that.

So what.

It is good amusement here so rock on.

Charlie Morse
Land elephant

Just by way of explanation to you, Charlie, and not as an attempt to argue the point, yes, there were entries that were deleted likely before you had a chance to see them.

I really thought the post was quite humorous when Doc first put it up.  Most have forgotten that his original post included a picture of boobies, the bird species.

As to the number of hits, and why it means more to some than it does to me, the hit counter does not necessarily indicate universal interest.  Stanley himself can run up a very high hit count on such a thread even if it was viewed only by him.  The hit counter doesn't distinguish between those who glance at the thread and quickly move on versus those who dwell on and thoroughly read the thread.  Some posters, I won't mention any two character names, may even repeatedly view their own posts to run up hit counts.

Lastly, if what we, the VRCC, wanted to do was get the highest possible hit counts, and the largest viewer population, I believe we would simply drop the boundaries and go fully XXX.  Then we would no longer be the VRCC family we have come to know and love, would we?

I do completely understand that there are many of our members who enjoy viewing and sharing titillating images.  As one of our members accurately pointed out, there are more efficient and accomplished places on the web to host that activity.

I try to think of our General message board as a cyberworld version of a large social gathering in which conversation, ideas, and images are being shared in many varied groups.  Certainly not everyone's interests are the same.  We may wander through the crowd, with or without a beverage in hand, joining in on some conversations, listening in on some, and simply passing on others.  My job is not necessarily being certain that no one is ever offended, but to try to maintain a balance that avoids offense reaching the level that it causes large numbers of our friends to choose to leave the party.  I feel we've in some cases failed that assignment.

Whether we realize it or not, the VRCC community is quite diverse.  We have among our ranks male and female riders; wives, husbands, adolescents, and octogenarians.  We include Americans, Europeans, Canadians, and Mexicans.  We have strongly committed heterosexuals and homosexuals of both genders.  We are visited by atheists, christians, agnostics, muslims, undecided free thinkers, and perhaps the not so occasional buddhist.  We are at times divided into conservative, liberal, progressive, liberatarian, and apolitical participants.

We can't please everyone.  We won't try.  We can, however, be aware of our surroundings and attempt to behave in this cyberspace gathering similarly to how we would were we conversing face to face.

Those are my views and I hope they at least in some small way provide an insight into some of my choices.

I think the incoherent dribble above pretty much speaks for itself, and pretty much confirms my observation regarding your intelligence.

If my 3 posts on this thread constitutes emotionetly [sic] involvement, then by this standard how should we interpret your constant day and night posting in the thread that got deleted?  This is a rhetorical question (which in simple terms for your benefit) means I couldn't give a crap what your interpretation is.  The interpretation by those that matter speaks for itself.

After my daughters had their “human health” class in school I had to reeducate them on the beauty of the human body.  I asked them “why is it that nearly all the Italian sculptures have exposed breast on their women?”.  Well, the reason is that in Europe, breast feeding is normal.  No one is ever appalled, or embarrassed to see a mother “whip” out a bood to feed their child.  As a matter of fact, my mother was appalled when one of our waitresses heating up a bottle when she had two perfectly good feedbags on her chest!!  My mother in law was the same way about my kids, but I had to educate her also.

See, breast ARE beautiful.  They are the food of the next generation, the first good meal nearly all kids outside of America have.  And thankfully, they’re not just for breakfast anymore!!

If you get offended by the beauty of a woman’s breasts, then you have to stop going to church and realize that sex is a normal part of the human experience.

Now this is the thing that bothers me, since when is the VRCC suppose to be your babbysitter!  Lips Sealed

I am not surprised about the gestapo removing the thread, I expected that a lot sooner. My thing is, under prior management things were more about motorcycles, the boobies thread at least had motorcycles in some of them. I see no motorcylces in the political or religious threads.

Oh well, at least fuzzy2bucks will gain like 2 hours a day not having to post to this thread.  Cool
