Finally fixed the throttle assembly after this summers earlier incident.
Not only had the cable frayed inside, the throttle tube had degraded seriously with pieces being broken off inside the switch housing. It looks as if someone used a lubricant that caused the plastic to start breaking down. Thanks to T-Roy for the donation of the stock grips with the throttle tube.

BTW does anyone have some Kury P-clamps to mount pegs to the engine guards, the right clamp had been ground off clear through one of the screw holes.

Which part of the guard do you want to mount to?  The curvy part uses a 1 1/8" clamp.  The support bar under the headers is 1".
