Here I am asking a question I am sure alll you guys know...
But what are my hitch options. I want a receiver hitch that hides under the fender.
I just bought a receiver hitch off ebay. It is three pieces painted black and looks to mount on the outside of the fender. Not what is was hoping for. Also is there plug and play wiring for Valks.
I have a 00 Tourer. Thanks again for your help.

By "hiding under the fender" I assume you mean inside the fender. Only problem with that is lack of room. Many riders have to remove the nut cage or do the fender washer mod just to install a slightly larger rear tire. That would be going from a 180 to a 200 size in back. Suffice it to say....your room is limited at best. And a hitch won't begin to fit tight up against the inside, so your only option is an external mount.

Made my own, could not find one that went under the fenders like I wanted. I made mine in 5 pieces, one on each side that comes down to the bottom of the bags with bag supports on them. The three other pieces welded into (picture a square corner u) one piece include the horizontal part with the reciever with two pieces welded that go up and bolt to the two pieces that look like bag supports. Six (probably to many but) bolts that are easy to get at and the hitch is on and off stuff outside the fenders is hidden by the bags when the hitch is not in use. My brother in law put the design into a CNC machine at his work and cut the pieces for me.

I am going to design my own hitch also. MNBill, the one you designed, is that for an I/S?

No, I have a standard, I do not know if it will work on an IS. Search the Tech board, someone there had a pattern I started with

This is mine,I think it's a Hitch Doc.It was bought from the USA,I had to change the ball to a 50mm one for the UK.If you need the ball,let me know and I will see how much it costs to ship it back across the water. Pitbull  |
