Ft Dodge or Storm Lake. Which one is better for stopping for the night? Ft Dodge seemed a little odd to me. Any cheap/clean room recremendations would be good.

I'd go with Storm Lake.
They got some serious road construction in Fort Dodge. Both in the city and outskirts too.

Storm Lake has some pretty decent restaurants.

We only 'try' to spend the night in SD in Winner. Finish the trip the next day. Same for the ride home. Did stay in Yankton a few times and Vermillion last year.

Cant do with less stops!  Grin We only stopped for beer 3x last year, only 20 miles apart! Plus we met a great lady couple from Iowa that stopped when we did. We chat for a bit at each stop.

Agreed. I been careful esp as I get older.   crazy2 The last stop was a gas stop and I grabbed a can for camp and put in the bag. The other 2 stops were fine. We sat there for 30-45 min chatting each time. Wasnt a slam and ride.

Not the point laddie.     You are a medic, and you have seen probobly as much blood & guts as I have on the highway, so I try to stop slaughter if I can.

Drink up............... & ride.
