Semper Fidelis distinguishes the Marine Corps bond from any other. It goes beyond teamwork – it is a brotherhood and lasts for life. Latin for "always faithful," Semper Fidelis became the Marine Corps motto in 1883. It guides Marines to remain faithful to the mission at hand, to each other, to the Corps and to country, no matter what. Becoming a Marine is a transformation that cannot be undone, and Semper Fi reminds us of that. Once made, a Marine will forever live by the ethics and values of the Corps. There is no such thing as an ex-Marine.
Celebrate with me Nov. 10th.

I'm not a Marine, but have a stepson (two tours in Iraq, one in Afghanistan; now safe and sound and mustering out) and several close friends who are. So, I'll just give you my utmost respect, and also my thanks for your service.

+2 on Semper fi. If I'm understanding what you wrote, NO, what we learned in Boot Camp and our 1st 2 or 3 years in the CORPS, once a Marine, always a Marine still rules. It is now as always, a way of life even after discharge. I'm still damn proud to be a Marine. Also wear my Purple Heart license plates proudly. Car, truck & Motorcycle.

Happy Birthday. I have friends who get a call on "their Birthday". I have no idea when they were born. Just when their Birthday is. SEMPER-FI Gentlemen.

My brother was a marine, rest his soul.
My daughter is a marine.
I'm part of the marine family.
Some things will never change. And never should.
Thank you, to all our marines and other military personnel. A heartfelt thank you!

We had an 80 year old Marine gentleman beat a thug intruder severely here in Indy about a year ago. The intruder had a gun even, and the Marine disarmed him, and pummeled him into the hospital. The thug, filed assault charges on the old Marine. He was recently acquitted. Thanks guys. Jabba
