Considering  HitchDoc seems to be one of the most popular Hitches,  It appears the (left) and (right) side "legs"  that lay against the rear fender  would scratch the fender.     Comments or Complaints please let me know.   Thanks.

The hitch doesn't lay against the fender or grab rail. It is spaced out from the grab rail, and doesn't come close to the fender at all.

Are you possibly missing the spacers?

Hard to see, but here's someone's pic, that shows that it stands off the fender and rails:



If you need better proof, I can take a good picture of mine, and post it...

That would be my scoot.  Here's a better pic showing the clearance. Also note that my saddlebags are not OEM (Tsukayu). If you've got a Tourer model AND using a saddlebag guard, like RJ has, you are going to be dealing with some issues getting everything remounted. You may want to PM him about that or search the forum.

Also my HitchDoc hitch has the removable ball which I like. I only use the trailer a couple times a year and like the clean looks.
