If you ever wondered what side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!
If a conservative doesn't like guns, he doesn't buy one. If a liberal doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.
If a conservative is a vegetarian, he doesn't eat meat. If a liberal is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.
If a conservative is homosexual, he quietly leads his life. If a liberal is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.
If a conservative is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation. A liberal wonders who is going to take care of him.
If a conservative doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels. Liberals demand that those they don't like be shut down.
If a conservative is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church. A liberal non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced. (Unless it's a foreign religion, of course!)
If a conservative decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it. A liberal demands that the rest of us pay for his.
If a conservative reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh. A liberal will delete it because he's "offended."
Well, I forwarded it to you all.

That is an extremely true post. At least as it pertains to modern liberals and conservatives. The whole liberal/conservative labeling scheme seems kind of bogus to someone my age though.
When I was young, liberals were a bunch of long-haired crazies bent on enjoying personal freedom and taking their civil rights to the max. They were against racism and against pretty much anything that would interfere with following their own drummer. At that time, conservatives stood for segregated schools and businesses. Haircuts for all! And everyone acting just like everyone else. And at that time I would have been labeled a liberal, because of my strong belief in personal freedom and civil liberties and, because of my ponytail. I know that's over simplified but still basically true I think.
Now conservatives stand for personal freedom, personal responsibility, the defense of our civil liberties and the right to do anything you please that doesn't interfere with the rights of others.
And the so-called liberals stand for state sponsored racism (state mandated racial quotas). They want everyone to be forced to act and talk in a politically correct manner. They want to take what we freedom lovers work for and give it to those who don't work. They are generally against civil liberties (in particular the 2'nd amendment) but also the 1'st when it gives voice to their critics.
Personally I think only the Libertarians have earned the right to be called liberals since they are the greatest freedom lovers of all.
I think most of those who are called liberals today should be called and should call themselves what they truly are. Socialists and totalitarians. They'd get more respect if they were honest about it.

Great post!! I am awaiting the naysayers to demand the "proof." You obviously didn't provide reliable documented sources from places outside the opinion stream of a few internet locations.
