Half-Breed ...1998 Standard with 1999 Tourer saddlebags and a 2001 Interstate trunk....Others like to use this name but this one is the first.

This one is BADMOJO ... It was crashed a few times by another owner I bought it totaled and glued it back together...My friend " THE " Detn8er said " That bike has bad mojo I would'nt ride it to the mailbox " from that day on thats what I called it

This is MY VALKYRIE, there are many like it,but this one is MINE ! My Valk is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My Valk, without me, is useless. Without my Valk, I am useless. I must ride true true. I must ride straighter and more defensive than the 'cager' who is trying to kill me........

Nothing against naming 'em, but in nearly 10 years of having mine, nothing's seemed to fit for a name, usually refer to her as just "My Valk"...

Now... I've been known to name a few of my guns though... Wink

that would be calling davie crockett in touch with his feminine side, after all his rifle was called 'bess' or some such. looked it up one was called 'old betsy' and one was called 'pretty betsy' neither was at the alamo

I've considered naming it, just never settled on anything. I was looking on the Cherokee translation site(wife is part Cherokee)  for Black Mariah, but there was nothing I could fit anywhere on the bike. So, I just sent an email to my girls and a cousin, along with some pictures of the bike, asking for suggestions. Knowing my girls....and cousin, I'm certain some will have to be edited before posting.  Wink

It will interesting to see what they come up with.

Folk's have been naming boat's since the first one hit the water....It even has rules  Shocked

Make sure it's a name you like, some say it's bad luck to change a boats name

Choose a name that suits your interests

Feminine is better than Masculine

Don't name a boat after your wife

Make sure it's easy to pronounce

Make sure it's not too long in case you have to spell out name to Coast Guard during an emergency

There are still a few seamen who hesitate to tempt the gods by giving their ships certain names. One superstition avoids names that are too impressive or haughty, remember the TITANIC

Superstition holds that since a boat's name allegedly reflects its personality, then the name should always have a positive spin. In other words, it's a case of "what you name is what you get." An owner may think that bestowing the name of "Money Pit" is a humorous way to reflect how much money has been invested in the boat; however, those who believe in this superstition would say that the boat will ultimately be more trouble than pleasure…

For sailors, it was unlucky to name the boat with a word ending in "a"

I named my Vulcan "Raymond" after my father.  He had seven Harleys in his lifetime.  I haven't named the Valk yet.  It has to be something special.  Thought about Black Pearl but I'm sure that one has been used.

My wife says that I’m having an affair, so I call her “Val”.  Oh well, if she let me ride her as easily as “Val” lets me, I’d spend more time with her too…..

Carolyn named mine...

It was pretty tired when I got it, I got a lot of stuff from HDL and eBay to get it back in
shape... Carolyn named it Sal... for salvage...

Chenaynay - 1999 interstate

Hmmm... I think Chenaynay was at the burger joint we ate at on the way to Savannah...

The previous owner put a small light under the fairing and between the forks which always stays on when the bike is key is on.  My wife was driving back and saw the bike from the front.  We pulled over to get fuel and she was laughing her butt off.  I asked her whats the deal.  Laughing she said the bike looked like the cartoon character Wall-e.  Yeah, right.  But I decided to look at the bike from her vantage point, and I'll be darned, IT DOES.  It is officially called Wall-e cooldude Wink Grin

My wife named our Valk 'Mista' (Mysta) after one of the Valkyries of Norse Legend, sister to Hildegarde, Gudra, Valtraute, Sigruna (Sangrid) and the Valkyrior.

Valkyries possessed the conventional attributes of the Asgardian gods including superhuman strength, stamina, resistance to injury, and long life! Has there EVER been a more appropriate name for a motorcycle?

I refer to the IS as my fat black girl, never really named it. But my wife named the Standard          "F&(ki^g  Christian "    the previous owner was injured in a accident as was I while riding her, both resulted in much time off of work. The wife was not happy.

Traveler (actually should be spelled Traveller) - the steed of the great General Robert Edward Lee.

Even visited the final resting place of the original Traveller (Lexington, Virginia).

And the great general himself:

And a Traveler she has been.
