I see this is new on the board. Has anyone tried this?? I had a 1300 VTX before my Valk and liked the low end torque of the VTX. Will this Mod give me more low end?? Will I need to run expensive high test gas?
I plan on doing the Mod with no dial, just up to Photo 1

Great modification! I did this to my 98 Valk last fall.
Yes,....this is a great way to make your bike more responsive in the lower RPM range.
I did mine for less than $4.00 (without the potentiometer).

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Agree with momz. I did it a few years ago and the bike seems to fly. I been running 89 octane and all is fine. There should be a write up in the Shop Talk section.

The ECT mod is definitely worth the effort. It will give you a good kick up to about 3,400 RPM.
It got me an extra couple of MPG, when I don't enjoy myself too much  Wink  I use mid grade gas, but I use the potentiometer and because I run an IS ICM I don't use more that half the advance that the ECT mod will provide.

Thanks guys,,,, I need spring. I spend to much on Mods when I can not ride. ECT Mod is done,  this winter has been, new horns, fuseblock, power point and GPS holder. Have it all polished up too. I did ride it across town for lunch, but snowstorm coming in tommorow so it will be weeks before it warms up again.

I suggest anyone using this mod to check your plugs with a 5x eyepiece, for any black specs and/or specs of aluminum on the white insulator, both indicating detonation from too much ign advance. This cannot be heard.

I've heard it ....... trust me that if you do hear you'll know what it is right away as it is fairly scarey!!
