Anyone wanting to join us can do so by being at Hardree's in Clinton, Tennessee Sunday morning 12-18 at 9:30 a.m.....I choose this location to ride because we can use major US Routes to get there with the hopes of keeping us out of the salt and rock chips that's covering most of the rural backroads .Below is some cool information about Davy Crockett. David Crockett (August 17, 1786 – March 6, 1836) was a celebrated 19th-century American folk hero, frontiersman, soldier and politician. He is referred to in popular culture as Davy Crockett and after the 1950s by the epithet “King of the Wild Frontier.” He represented Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives, served in the Texas Revolution, and died at the Battle of the Alamo. Crockett grew up in East Tennessee, where he gained a reputation for hunting and storytelling. After being elected to the rank of colonel in the militia of Lawrence County, Tennessee, he was elected to the Tennessee state legislature in 1821. In 1826, Crockett was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. Congressman Crockett vehemently opposed many of the policies of President Andrew Jackson, most notably the Indian Removal Act. Crockett's opposition to Jackson's policies led to his defeat in the 1834 elections, prompting his angry departure to Texas shortly thereafter. In early 1836, Crockett took part in the Texas Revolution and was killed at the Battle of the Alamo in March. Crockett became famous in his own lifetime for larger-than-life exploits popularized by stage plays and almanacs. After his death, he continued to be credited with brazen acts of mythical proportion. These led in the 20th century to television and movie portrayals, and he became one of the best-known American folk heroes.

I'm looking forward to seeing Joe, Gordon, Al, Wimp, and Greg in the morning at Hardees. And hopefully others that can make it. Staying on the major roads is a good idea. They look to be the ones with the least amount of salt and grit on them. I just waxed the Valk, checked the oil and air pressure and am ready to get some much needed riding in.. I did a bunch of Honey-dos today to allow this Sunday ride without backlash from the missus! I'm ready! Bernie

Our Man Davy, borned and raised up on the Nolichucky River Near Greenville and Bulls Gap was bigger than life and twice as full of wonder. Started out in life in a meager fashion and became a honorable man anyways. No real education and was a Representative of the People of Tennessee and did his own thing. Parks and towns all over this here United States named in his honor., I guess he was a goodern. Well if you think about it two of Tennessee's Finest, Sam Houston and Davy Crockett were instrumental in the birth of the Republic of Texas, a mighty feat indeed. Lets hear it for T for Texas , give me T for Tennessee.
Excellent destination for a ride Joe, my hat is off to you. Marcel

I recommend the FISHING HOLE RESTAURANT AS WELL> Phone Number proudly displayed on the sign up front, no reservations required at this point though.

Well that fish was a advertisement that was stuck back in the alley.
Asked if I could have it and they said yes.
Road all the way to Cheaha with that big stuffed fish hanging off the back.
It looked like a 40 pounder and the picture weighed 3 pounds.
(I FISH,,, THEREFORE I LIE>)
