I made a bracket out of aircraft aluminum for my solo rack, It was originally designed for a shadow ace i believe. Did not take a lot of time with a drill press and some sand paper for polishing.

If you keep and eye out on evil bay, the show chrome solo racks can go for nothing. The three I have my uncle purchased for a total of about 50$. The two I have on my saddlebags came in a pair actually made for trike fenders. The solo rack was for a shadow or a boulevard originally. All of them are the same regardless of what bike they are designed to fit. The only difference is the brackets that come with the rack(s). When my cousin came home from welding school he brought back hundreds off square pieces of aircraft aluminum to practice welding. They work great for make a custom bracket to fit the valk. With a drill press and air grinder, I made mine in about 15 minutes. I also sanded the protective coating off so it could be polished. I could try and make more if someone is interested.

I've been searching for a reasonably priced one as many of us are.

So what was the cost of the one sold by Show Chrome?  I have a shop interested in making some.  The guy does excellent work.  He's asking how many. Of course volume always dictates price.

If you can get me one, I can make detailed drawings....might as well include the saddle bag rails at the same time.

I have aftermarket bags. So bag rails are something I'm not familiar with. Are the rails for factory bags not available anymore?
