Don't worry, while they had the hood up, we had 'em go ahead and tinker with the plumbing on mom a bit... 4 is enough!

Still haven't had a chance to upload pics yet, but:

Kaelynn Elizabeth Ecton
3 pounds, 10.2 ounces
16 1/4 inches

Brian Keith Ecton II
4 pounds, 1.6 ounces
16 1/2 inches

Blake Dale Ecton
2 pounds, 15 ounces
16 inches

Mom's pretty beat up, but resting. Dad's in a daze that's expected to last at least the next 18 years...

Thanks for the pictures Brian.  3 beautiful new lives you have there.  I am assuming Brian II is the kid with the problems that caused the early exit?  Just curious.

C O N G R A T S  again for 3 beautiful kids!

P.S.  Kaelynn has long fingers, gonna be a basketball player.. Wink

Thanks again! Smiley Yeah, proud daddy doesn't even BEGIN to describe it... And worried daddy too of course, but that's par for the course...

Blake was the one that caused the early exit. Or rather, his placenta. (Warning, technical medical stuff to follow) Wednesday's sonogram showed two major problems -
#1 He had suddenly begun lagging his siblings in growth markedly, and
#2. a condition known as absent end diastolic flow was observed in his umbilical cord. Basically, the blood flow through his umbilical between him and his placenta was being restricted (more to it than that, of course, but) causing him to receive a limited amount of nutrients.

As the doc explained it, we could wait, and the others would continue to grow, but Blake would grow no more, and would in fact begin to recede, endangering him, so it was time... better to take 3 babies early then to take 2 healthy ones later and one barely alive, at best...

Congratulations, now go get some SLEEP Wink

  Congrats from this side.

Sometimes, getting a little rest is hard to do . . .

An  older, tired-looking dog wandered into my  yard.
I could tell from his collar and  well-fed belly that he had a home and was well  taken care of.

He  calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head;
he  then followed me into my house, slowly walked  down the
hall,  curled up in the corner and fell  asleep.

An  hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out. The next day he was back, greeted me in  my yard, walked inside and resumed his spot in  the hall and again slept for about an hour. This continued off and on for several  weeks.

Curious I pinned a note to his collar:  'I would like to find out who the owner of this  wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are  aware that almost every afternoon your dog comes  to my house for a nap.'

The next day he  arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his collar:

'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's  trying to catch up on his sleep.   Can I come with him tomorrow?'

Brief update:

(Cross posting to main board and here)

All three have been off their CPAPs now for 24 hours (Which is a very good thing).

Which, a side effect of that was that their faces aren't totally covered now, and mommy was able to finally hold her babies.

And, a side effect of THAT was that daddy was finally able to get some pictures of their faces! Or, at least 2 of them. (Mommy got tired before she could get to Blake, but she'll start with him today)

So, now let me properly introduce:

Kaelynn Elizabeth:

And Brian Keith II :

We go home from the hospital, which is going to be very difficult to do... Going home but leaving your babies there isn't a fun thing to do, but... things can always be worse...

More updates later... Thanks again for all the comments, warm thoughts, prayers, support, etc!

Thanks again ya'll! We really do appreciate all the warm thoughts and nice comments! (And even that other guy's comments too...  2funny )

Mommy finally got to hold Blake today, so I've finally got a picture of his face as well...

Also, the spousal unit/maternal unit and myself came home from the hospital today. We're about to get some sleep in our own bed for the first time in a week... Well, I am... She has to pump every 2.5-3 hours... Seriously... I love my wife, and I've always admired her, but my admiration had gone off the chart right now with her dedication to doing everything she possibly can for her kids...

Brief update...

Blake and Brian came home Tuesday. We haven't had much sleep since then for some funny reason. Wink

Kaelynn was supposed to come home tonight (Thursday, 7/14) at 8:15 PM but she had another brady (bradycardia) last night, so she's got at least 5 more days in the hospital now. Not a good thing, but if she's going to keep having bradys (Sudden drop in heartrate) I'd rather it happen in the hospital where she's on monitors and surrounded by health professionals instead of at home where we could sleep right through it and not know it even happened...

On a happier note, finally got the low res copies of the Hospital photographer's pictures... IMHO they came out pretty dang well! We bought the CD and the copyrights, so eventually I'll get non-watermarked higher quality copies, but for now:

Kaelynn

Brian

Blake

And finally some group shots of 'em all together:
