Well, some time ago I started the tradition of getting in a decent ride on New Years Day. Heck, you can only watch so much Football, right?  Wink

Some years it has been trying. Being in Florida for the winter has made it easier for the last three years, although the last two years before this one have been downright chilly even down here! You can always tell when it's cold. There won't be any (or very few) other hardy souls out there on bikes, and the folks in their cages give you these curious, "are you nuts?" stares. crazy2

Well today EVERYONE that owns a bike appears to have been out in Central Florida. I got in a 175 miles of fantastic riding this afternoon! Left at 2 and was back by 5:30. Not one mile on a super slab, so figuring on a gas and rest stop with food, a stop at the beach, lots of slow stretches on A1A along the shore, there were some "rapid" stretches along the way. Well, you all know how the Fat Girl likes to stretch her legs, and strut her stuff, especially when there are other "non Valkyrie" bikes around. cooldude

Some days it just feels great to be alive! Smiley

We went to Tom (Sealskinner)'s Memorial in Belleview Fl.  Fabulous tribute to a wonderful man.  Great turnout by many Valkyrie riders as well as some others from local clubs.
I agree, seemed like everyone that had a bike was out and riding it yesterday.  Hope to meet you on a local ride to eat soon.

Thunderbolt, I was talking with TropicTraveler yesterday about that very thing. Thinking Brooksville /Inverness area?  Centally located for most, I'll get with him and make it happen. Love to meet some of these new Florida Valkyrie owners cooldude
