I guess if you have a lot of power demands or have had trouble with the Yuasas this could be an option, though a very expensive one. My Yuasas last so long I forget when I bought them. Have you had trouble with other batteries?

It's funny that you mentioned this battery because I had never heard of it until I opened an email for a sale at "cyclenutz" a few minutes ago.
If that isn't where you priced it, you may want to check them out.

These guys are blitzing the For Sale forums over on the Goldwing sites too... You know the posts... some guy with only 4 posts adds thread comment that consists only of a link. I am having real good luck with my AGM battery.

Hey there all,
I was just on Batteries + and saw a GL 1500 GW battery that was rated at 340 CCW (AGM) and a GL1500 CT with 220 CCW. Anyone know if the 340 would work in a Tourer? I have a few extra items and wonder if I need a larger capacity battery. Running(55W) lights, J&M (CB), XM radio.
I'm looking for a new battery and was considering Batteries+ but the GW battery was $20 more than the 220 CCW Valk Battery(99 vs 119).
So, I don't know if the GW needed a different Alternator which I just have the OEM alt. I do keep it on Battery tender most of the time lately but my battery is 5 ys old and is acting up a little.
Thanks for any info.

The Goldwing battery is physically larger than the Valkyrie battery, so you might have a problem shoehorning it in. As for added accessories, unless you frequently run the accessories with the bike not running, you wouldn’t need a higher capacity battery. The battery capacity rating for a bike is based mostly on the power to crank the bike. A five year old battery should be replaced as a preventative measure.

Thanks, I guess that a 5 year old battery is about average and should consider myself lucky that it's been good up to now. I did just find out that the dimensions are different, soI now have what I needed. Thanks for the info Bobbo, I'll just get one and not worry about it. John

Hey Sugar bear , I've had real good luck running an Interstate battery on the Valk and in my old 81 1100 Goldwing before I sold it , I had the Interstate in the old wing for four years and no problems and going on three years now on the Valk ... found the Interstate batteries for the Valk at Sam's Whse for about $ 65.00 before taxes... Thanks the Geezer
