What kind of windshield?

I talked to a guy the other day on a Tourer that has a windshield I like. He didn't know what brand it was but it looked very similar to a Hondaline windshield with the contour but it was almost square at the top where my Hondaline is rounded. All it said on the left hand side was GE. I think GE puts a polymer on it.

Does anybody have a clue?

I have a "clearview" windshield on my Tourer. It is the same size and shape of the Hondaline, cept it doesn't have the small section under the headlight. It is also polycarbonate instead of lexan. I have been very happy with its performance. it also can be purchased in shorter and longer versions.

I believe the Cearview is acrylic, the Honda is polycarbonate.

MY .02 is this.  You cant beat a Hondaline windshild.  When Judy and I went down last year...I went through the windshild (It did break) but it didnt shatter.  There were no injurious shards.  I think I broke my thumb actually "punching" through it, but thats the only injury the glass caused.  Well it did destroy my helmet, tore the face shield off of it and jammed the flip up so it could no longer open.  Subsequently I only ride full face now because of the windshield which I dont want to give up.  Honda Direct fixed me up with a new piece of lexan for the Honda set up for  250 bucks or so......thats a bit more than a clearview, but its worth it to get the flex and strength in my opinion.

The OEM helped because its not so stiff...it flexed and then eventually broke the corner off where my body was forced through it.  if it was a thicker plexiglass one that wont bend Id hate to see where my arm and neck would have been stuck....

But as far as looking for a place to land.....NOPE! there was no time to think......I heard the guys bike sliding on the pavement a millisecond before it took out my back wheel and when the bike fell over on the right side and hit the crash bar IT STOPPED.....I was still doing 35mph and obviously continued straight ahead regardless of the obsticals.....the mirror post and the windshield were my foes and they each left a mark, but it could have been much worse

This has the makings of a ‘What oil should I use’ or ‘is a car tire a good thing?’ discussion! (LOL)

I have a Clearview (Link below.) The windshield is, in my OPINION far better than the OEM. And, yes, it IS made from an Acrylic Blend Material, which according to the manufacture, far exceeds ‘Industry & DOT Standards’ (whatever that means.) The lament on my OEM went bad and it started clouding up. That’s something I’ve seen on many OEM Honda windshields. Some will say it (cloudily windshield) will only occur if you do something wrong in cleaning it (like using a product not meant for it.) I didn’t. It still started clouding up and de-lamentating.

I’ve had the Clearview for. . . 3 or 4 years now. It’s still scratch free AND no chips of any sort and I’ve taken some BIG hits on it from rocks to birds. I ordered mine 2 inches taller and two wider plus I added a vent (GREAT Option BTW!) The biggest plus; I can buff it out should any scratches ever appear.

Lastly, the company is FANTASTIC to deal with. That’s my ½ of cents worth. . . .  Now, here what I think about car tires and oil (               )

On the lower corner of my Hondaline stock Tourer windshield is clearly imprinted with the word "Lexan".

Lexan = Polycarbonate , Plexiglass = Acrlyic . Lexan is much tougher in impact resistance, ie "bullet proof glass " ... stuff of aircraft windshields ... Plexiglass is brittle in comparison.
Hondaline is my choice. Besides, the contours seem to deflect the wind smoother.

Mine does not have the vent in it. I was refering to the potion of the Hondaline shield that wraps around the headlight. The clearview does not have that portion. Sorry about the "confusion".

Does the Clearview have the complete circle cut out for the headlight or is it open underneath the light so you can pull it straight up to get it off. I hope so because me Hondaline is a pain to get off with the cobra light bar.

My Valk came w/a beautiful "WIND VEST" aftermarket Lexan... sells for $340.

It looks beautiful but it does not offer the performance of my new Batwing shield.
I love the Wind Vest looks and feel and can use it for local rides. The Batwing removal takes 15 seconds!

I don't think this is the windshield you are referencing, but it's worth looking at it.
