I am planning to get a new set of grips for my Valkyrie.

Any suggestion on how you remove the left grip - seems to be glued on pretty good!

Use some GOO GONE. Just take something like an ice pick and shove it under the grip. This will give you enough space to run the GOO GONE in there. Let it do it's thing for a while, twist and add more till it slides off. You can then use more GOO GONE to clean the handle bar before installing the new grip.

heinno.... take the chrome end cap off of the grip, then take an air hose with one of those long blow attachments, and push the nozzle up into the grip and blow air all around the inside... this will loosen  the glue and the grip will almost fall off.

Recommend the air hose..I just did mine that way, took less than 30 seconds to blow the grips loose and pull off...really a sweet way to go, without messing up the old ones...

I bough a Baron X-Bar to put on the Valk.   The air hose idea is genius!   I never would have guessed that would work, but a steady stream swelled it up a bit and it slid off just like it was buttered.   I owe somebody for this idea, it was swweeeeeet!

If you will remove the chrome cap and spay  WD40 up in between the bar and the grip it will deslove the glue then you can take an air hose and blow up in between the bar and grip and it will slide right off easily without any damage to anything

cooldude What they said. I just did it last weekend (Kuryakin KY-6190). I wanted to preserve the old grips, no idea why, but did not want to destroy them. The air nozzle worked like a champ and they literally floated off. Don't forget to lightly sand the bar and throttle slider a little to get good adhesion for the new grips.

Yup, compressed air. An inflating needle works pretty well as do a number of other attachments. In fact, I just took mine off and put it back on a few times recently while temporarily test fitting and then permanently installing the new drag bars.

Save your stock grips if they're in good shape. Someone will pay a few bucks for em because a lot of people like em better than the aftermarket options. They are quite comfortable.
