Does anyone know of a location which has small rifle and/or large rifle primers in stock? All my usual sources are out and can't get them. Thanks, Frye

Frye, This is a good source, however they kill you on the shipping. I generally order as much as possible in each order to offset that www.midwayusa.com

I just checked at Sinclair International ,three blocks from where I live. They sell world wide and across the counter, They don't have any rifle primers with no solid expectations at this time. I was amazed, they almost always have complete supplies for bench rest and high power shooting.. Sinclair might be a good place to get supplies since they're only about 150 miles from your home, save the Hazardous charge.

I just checked with one of the big shops in the area a couple weeks ago...on any given day they usually have a quarter-million (no joke!) various primers in stock.
Now...zip, zero, nada. Bare shelves - not one box - and no guesstimation as to when they'll get any more.
Mid-South Shooter's Supply and Cabela's might have some...

Thanks for the ideas guys. I'm not sure how many have already noticed it but there is an ammo and reloading supplies shortage in the country. Midway, Midsouth, Cheaper than dirt and local dealers, the problem seems to be everywhere.
I've got 8lbs of pistol powder, bullet casting supplies, .308 brass and some other things all backordered at Midway. Rifle primers are not obtainable and Midway won't even backorder them. Nor will Midsouth or the other sources I tried. All reloading components seem to be on very short supply. Our local gander mountain can't get them nor can my usual local dealer. .380 pistol ammo is also virtually impossible to find. Our local Rural King told a friend of mine they are no longer carrying pistol ammo because they can't get it.
I'm not sure what is going on but I'm not liking it. A local guy is claiming to have some small rifle primers on the way to him which he will sell on a first come, first serve basis for $60 per thousand. They were $26 per thousand a few months ago. WTH?

Ammo (and it supplies) has been in short supply.... or great demand, or both..... as a result of a few things (political and economic). I have noticed a shortage of Federal 550 bulk 22 ammo and 9mm at WalMart (which I believe does have .380 ammo in stock locally at least). I'm not into reloading, but a few of my friends are and have noticed a shortage in that area as well. I think it is a "demand" thing .... not necessarily a shortage per say.
