Interstate lock question

What are the 2 locks located under the trunk of the Interstate used for? I'm sure Honda put them there for a reason. Just curious.....

According to the manual they are helmet locks! I tried to use them once and it was kind of a pain! But I have only owned my bike for 1 week! Maybe there is a trick to it!

If you get the " T "bars then locking helmets to them is pretty easy.

And if you have the new style flip release latch like the one on my flip face helmet, they are useless.
