question:
The final drive gear ratio for the Valkyrie is 2.833 from what I have found in 5 different sites..(though I don't have those site available at the moment) I also found that the goldwing has a 2.75? final gear ratio, and different 4th and 5th gear ratios..wonder if they'll interchange??

Probably and with the slightly higher rear end gear ratio lower your rpms and increase your mileage a little bit.

That would be quite an undertaking thou (time and $$) to gain a few MPG .... especially the trans.

I doubt it would be worth it.

I wouldn't do it just to do it but if I had to tear it apart anyway and could find the parts reasonably, I might just go for it.

The ratio difference is less than 5%.  That would be a lot of work for very little (if any) gain.

I've posted info on this before including all of the gear ratios, suggest a search.
but quickly, '97 and later GL 4th and 5th gear sets interchange with the valkyrie, before '97 they do not, due to different size shafts, this is from what I have read.
It has been posted before that the rear Diff gears are not interchangable.
