The Radio Gods (Walton / Johnson) announced this morning that the government was implementing a new pet tax. They said that pet owners would need to take their pet to get it officially weighed and then pay a tax according to the weight of the animal..... This was followed  up by an "April fools"  2funny 2funny Cheesy

I'd laugh...but my city taxes pets.

They add it on at the Vet to the required rabies vaccine, making the $3 shot cost $35+. In addition, they require it be updated yearly (when the vet says every 5 years now).

Don't give the fools in Washington any ideas.  They might like the idea of another tax. L

I understand they've got a bill in the Texas Legis. - Intact male dogs over 20 pounds would require a $100,000 insurance policy and handling requirements to be those required for "vicious dogs".  If this somehow passes, it could well be the end to many sports, including hunting (dog couldn't be off lead), financial losses because it would most likely end dog shows in Texas, etc.

This is NOT an April Fools statement.

our city is considering instituting a dog resolution.  All dogs must be registered with the police department with a picture.  If dog weighs over 40 must carry a liability policy on dog.  No dog over 40 poungs can be off of a leash at anytime.  You can not keep your dog chained in your yard unless it is in the back yard behind a fence.  Not sure what the fine will be for not registering or not following the other rules, but we have heard it will be stiff
