I thought it would be a beautiful day to finally get some riding in. Hadn't been outside and had no idea the wind was so bad. When I saw how bad it was I decided to go anyway. That sucked! The wind 'bout beat me to death and I just turned around after 12 miles, came home and parked it. It's only 2:00pm so maybe it will calm down in a little while and I'll try that again. I know some of you guys would ride in a combination hurricane and blizzard. So, I'm a wus. Hate cold and hate riding in serious wind.

Me too also!! I managed about 75 miles before I came home. Worst thing about riding in the wind...it changes speed and/or direction without warning!!

Well, I put a new brake line on my van, and when finished the sun was shining. So I fired up Cheniqua and took her for a ride, rode about 12 miles, stopped to say hi to a couple of friends, saw the storm coming from the west so I headed for home. Stopped for gas, and 4 miles from home the skies opened up and got my squeaky clean bike all dirty. I'll ride in the rain all day without complaint. I just hate having to detail the bike when I get home.

Hey wolf, that last time i banged the gears between stop signs, I pulled into the garage, crawled off the bike and looked one of our county mounties right in the eye, as he said, RJ you old fart, you know better than that. Now knock it off. Asked him who squealed on me and he said he heard my pipes about 9 blocks away and just drove over, as he had an idea who it was. Can't do nothin anymore without gettin wrapped. LOL...... Glad to have them in the area however, never know when I might need one to get me up if I should happen to fall again.

....I hear ya Rj. ...sometimes ya just gotta do...what ya gotta do.....back in 1980 I just moved back to jersey from Houston Texas...was still riding my first bike...1977 750F.....they used to have those huge mufflers on em that looked like a scud missle....but mine had rusted off right where the four pipes came together off the cylinder heads...probably from riding on the beach too much in Galveston....sounded like a tank with headers....course bein 25 at the time I thought that sounded...Oh so sweet.....so I did a couple passes up and down my parents street ....doin about 70 mph.....next thing I know a township cop pulls up....I knew him ofcourse....back then every cop in town knew me by name.. .....he pulls up with a big ol smile on his face and goes....soon as I got the call...I knew it was you Spencer.. ...do me a favor and go run that thing someplace else so your neighbors stop calling.

Beautiful day on the Front range today except for the wind - - 35 mph. The temp got up to 82 so I had to get my knees in the breeze, so I rode for about an hour and half. Got a little dicey when my traveling direction made the gale a crosswind and I had the fat lady rolling at 70 mph. But she handles the wind much better than I do, with incessant helmet buffeting.
