To make a long story short, mom's brother-in-law (93 years) passed Thursday and today is the family viewing.
Pray for me that I have enough sense to keep my pie hole shut, no matter how hurting the digs are and how pissed off I get at the time when I receive them. Trust me, they will be spilled out of my cousin's mouth today.
I have not spoken to most of the family for the past 40 years, except to tell them something or ask for something and it always turns into a hen fight. Mom's sister used to start them, but she is so deep into Alzheimer's she probably won't even recognize me, but, she has a daughter, who I used to babysit 60 years ago that also has a very sharp mouth, her mother drilled it into her head I was a SOB.
I don't want my Uncle to go in the ground with me a sounding off, he was too good of a guy to me, especially after I lost my dad.
Thanks for the help, it is much appreciated..

Sometimes the best revenge is to shut up and smile at the fools. Shakes their confidence when needlers cant get under your skin.

RJ,
i know exactly how you feel. when my mother passes away, it will be the last time i will ever have to deal with her oldest son. out of respect for her, i will go to her funeral, but as for her first born boy, there will be no respect, and it will be hard to stay out of jail on that day.

Prayers sent to help you through this my friend. As my Dad would have said, "ignore them, they're just sucking wind through their A$$". I never really understood that phrase but I sure enjoyed it.

Kendall, I did the patience and tolerance thing and it went better than I expected. I didn't stick around for the Aunt, (Mom's sister) to show up. After talking to her kids, I chose to remember her as she was about 40 years ago. Thanks for the thoughts and parayers, it helped, as that is as calm as I've been with that family in over 55 years.

Praying for you to be teflon RJ today, let everything that could bug you, just slide off.
Also, yesterday the sermon was about forgiveness, hope that it might somehow work its way into today.
