i don't know but, if you go to this site. it states that the 99 I/S alt kicks in at 745 rpm not 950 like "non-I/S?"

I have no idea either. Where did you get the numbers?
The Goldwing alternator will also fit on the Valkyrie (and is a lot cheaper).

If ya is loaded with $$$, go with one of your part #'s for the Valk,
If you are a little conservative, read the following.
GOLD WING ALTERNATOR ALTERNATIVE:
Save some money by getting a Gold Wing alternator to fit your Valkyrie! Part # is 31100-MT2-015 for '97 Goldwing Aspencade. The only difference is the terminal & plastic insulator are different where you connect the alternator battery wire. You have to take off the capacitor that is mounted on the Gold Wing alternator and rotate the front housing to match the holes from the Valkyrie model so that it will fit.
I put 2 of the regular Alternators on MGM, till I found this in Jeff K's website........ Put the above alternator on him and ain't looked back in close to 100,000 miles, and several of those were pulling a trailer that had more lights on it than most Christmas trees...... Trailer is long gone now. Someone in Memphis, TN liked it better than I did. They unbolted the receiver ball from the trailer tongue and took off........... Insurance paid me for it, and I haven't looked back or for the trailer... I don't pull trailers no more... Gettin too old and mom no go no more, so don't need the trailer for everything except the kitchen sink to travel........ Just fill my Aspencade tour box canvas bag with the needed essentials and I'm ready to go.

That picture does not look like a Valkyrie alternator. It has some extra doodads on it and the flange is rotated far from where my Valkyrie alternators are set. This must be a Wing set up
