From this

To this.

To this.

Almost done.  Waiting on the tank do be done.  I can't believe how much work and time it took but it was/is a labor of love.

List of what I had to do because the PO had crashed it.
New paint, new right crash bar, new right mirror, new to me right valve cover, new front brake caliper cover. Straighten out right foot peg, radiator brackets, bag guards, bag frames and back rest.

List of what I did for maintenance
oil & filter, change brake fluids, change clutch fluid, intake O's, carb 38's, forks rebuilt, rear shock bushings, coolant change, rear metzler, final drive oil, spline lube, valve clearence, timing belt adjust, new clutch cable, new throttle cables, plugs, de-smog, .

I think that's it.  When I get the tank, I'll do a carb sync.

List of what I added to make her mine.
Kary highway pegs, Baker air wings, Rivco air horns, Vista Cruise, Chrome radiator cover and screen, Front axle nut cover and plug, new hose holds, rear brake pedal cover, chrome engine hangers, swing arm covers, drive shaft cover, oil filter cover,  4" risers, fork top covers, triple tree bolt cover

That caddy is the best thing I've built this year (works been slow).  Made it out of scrap wood and some wheels I had hanging around for a couple a years.  It's unbelievable how easy it makes moving the bikes around.  There's 5 lally columms surrounding the bike in that pic, used to take 10 mins of back and forth till I had that caddy light bulb go off.

I noticed your bags are a solid color now, does that mean the entire bike is going to be marroon....certainly doesn't look like the bike that sat in my garage for 6 weeks  Smiley....I know how much work goes into breaking one of these down....looks great, keep the pic's coming....

I'll measure it up and post it.  I use the bike lift and lift it enough to get stands under the front crash bars, then let it down, then remove the bike lift.  Then I use a car jack under the swing arm with a block, get high enough to slide the dolly under the rear crash bars, then let it down.  Then I use the car jack to lift the front and remove the stands. The bike always has a 3point lift except when using the bike lift, but that's solid enough for the short time it's used.  Alot of jockying around, but it's still WAY BETTER than the rolling it back and forth crap.

Yeah, going solid "Burgandy" (I think that's what Honda calls it?)  Thanks for the kind words, hopefully someday we'll hook up and you can see her again.

Very nice....VERY, very nice!! You are a man after my own heart! I've done over a half dozen bikes, down to that (and a few even more!), and I've always been very happy, when it was done. You'll have a bike to be proud of! I really like the solid color. It ought to really stand out in a crowd.
At 57, heart problems, a few other health problems, I'm glad I don't have to do that to the Valk. I'm still in the process of a frame-off on my '51 ford 3/4T truck. but that's THIS summer's project...

Keep up the good work, anxious to see it finished!

Walkure,  Thanks for the encouragement.  That Ford looks like a project!  Good luck and post some updates.

Glad the person that has this bike has a butt on the seat and not on
his shoulders.

Never did get the chance to post the final "After" shot.

She's a great bike, although I'm not as comfortable on the Mezt's as the Avon's or E3's that I've got on the others.  Next year, Darkside.

Thanks Joe;   I do understand the PO took some big hearted members for a ride and that makes me more happy she's with me now.

I'm REALLY JEALOUS of the ride you got planned on the Cherohala and Deals Gap.  That's some sweet riding!

Have a safe and great ride.

I'm always happy to read posts like this one as compared to all the religious and political crap I wade through. Loving care is certainly shown on your bike. Can't remember if I was on that ride, was it during one of the Johnson City Inzanes?
Good job! As mentioned above, you sure bond with the Valk when you take it apart and put it back together again!! cooldude cooldude
