Hell-o everyone
going to try this new post. for the first time.

I have a ? for you dark siders.  I am going to go to the dark side as soon as I wear out my rear tire and I know I have seen some of you talking about tire size and RPMs I do not want to have to cut anything on the ol gal so some refresh my mind. What size am I looking for

I also have a 205/55 Hankook. Not sure about the nut cage removal since I already did mine few years ago when I went to the 200 Metz. If you ride 1 up and 200 lbs, I think you'll be fine. But its alot easier to do when you have the tire off now then it is to find out later you shoulda.

Only handling issues I found was it wanted to set me up on a ruff slanted highway. I was on a outside lane due to riding somewhat side by side. Other then that no turning issues at all. Felt like my 200 Metz.

i went with 205/60/16 Goodyear triple tread dont notice any change in rpm

205/60/16 at 34 psi

No change in rpm, but did the nut cage mod just to be sure. It easy to do when changing the tire like Fugie said.

Look for a tire that has a soft tread compound, good wet weather handling, good traction, etc. The 205-65-16 is the nearest in circumfrence to a stock size but is extremely limited on choices. I found that the Bridgestone Potenza g109 grid fits the criteria I was looking for. SmokinJoe and several others run the Cooper Zeon 2xs however it only comes in a 55. It has a very soft compound, I think about a 330, but I'm like you, I didn't want to give up the rpms. The potenza comes in a 205-60-16 and has a 460 compound. The Michelin triple tread along with most others of similar size have a much harder compound which to me means less traction thru the twisties. I don't ride the twisties as aggresive as others but there are times a curve slips up on me and I want to know that what is on my rear will do it's job. So far it has performed flawlessly. I've had to test it a time or two. Rides very smooth, not much noise, works great in the rain, no flaws so far.
