All are/were awesome cars, indeed.
I had a '62 vette, lift-off hard top, hipo 327....at 130mph the front end would get very "light".
Later I had a '68 Z/28, BW4spd w/ Hurst super-shift, 4.10 posi, all the good stuff...., but if I could have my pick today, I would opt for a '70 Yenko 427 Nova.
Aaaahhhhh, the good old days!!!!!!

Have to add that I smoked a 440 GTX north of Reno on US395 with that '68 Z/28.  Prior to that, I smoked a '70 Mustang w/ a built 429 near Montmorenci, Indiana with that Camaro.
In those days, we could cruise into a Sunoco station and dial our desired octane right at the pump.  My Z/28 (11:1, 30/30 Duntov solid lifter cam, Holly 780 dbl pumper) never ran anything other than Sunoco 260----101 octane.
Gee, I can still smell the burnin' rubber!

Jess, I didn't know you were in Michigan. I guess I never picked up on that. The Woodward Cruise is a MUST DO for serious car guys, or so I’ve been told. I haven't been to one yet, but WILL make it one of these years! I've read where people come from all of the USA to attend, eh? Also, that because of the mammoth crowds it takes a little pre-planning. They started a nice one in Grand Rapids in 2005 (link below.) This year will be #7 and we haven’t missed one yet. It’s been some crappy weather a few years, but it’s been a great time.

I was to the first Dream Cruise in Detroit, and it was awesome then, I can't imagine what it is now.
We are quite proud of what the 28th st Cruise has become (even with the weather). It is great to just walk the route.
