Anyone got a source for some CHROME screws that go in the reservoir tops?  Can’t seem to find any anywhere.
 Thanks

Mine were rusty when I got my bike. I lived with it for a while. I easily found, like, black ones
at the local fastener place, but not chrome. Finally I got new OEM ones from HDL (the cheapest
thing they have is $2.50, so they were $2.50 each) and used a proper fitting screwdriver (it's
not a "normal" phillips-head) and now it has been at least three years, they've been on and off
numerous times and they still look good.

Not chrome but I get stainless steel screws at my local hardware store. They look good & won't get rust in the phillips head cross like stock screws.  cooldude

Thanks for the replies. cooldude

I got some OEM's, but they just don't look right with the chrome covers I got from one of my PO's.Embarrassed I'd use stainless, but have been unable to find them in the three stores I looked in. Undecided

Looked online, but couldn't find them and got tired looking. Angry

Hopefully, someone will come to the rescue.

My local True Value Hardware has them. It is one of those "real" old fashioned hardware stores.
Keep hunting & get extras when you find some.  Wink

Your local ACE Hardware will have 'em in stainless. Take an OEM with you & fit a nut to it to determine size & thread pitch.
Then pinch the threads between your thumb & forefinger and slowly and lightly touch it to a buffing wheel for about 15 seconds [with polishing compound] and she'll shine like chrome which will last quite some time.

You can use an old "borrowed" t-shirt, instead of spending all the bucks for a buffing wheel. Not to mention the electricity savings. Don't listen to that profligate with his extravagant spending!!!

ditto on Ace - I've been in several, now, and they seem to have the very best Hillman selections around. They STILL don't have the elusive 10mmX1.25 bolts for adding the Hitchdoc, but everything else I have looked for their, they've had.

I looked last week and ACE had the 10mm x 1.25 bolts. The store I was in has a chrome section and a Black Chrome section. The store is 30 miles from my town.

I found the 10mm x 1.50  started thinking no 1.25, found them a few feet away from the 1.50
