If you've used it, do you have any comparison between this and HD's Ride Planner?

I have a new model Garmin Zumo 220.  That program will not communicate with it.  At least I have been unable to get it communicating.

from the help section,,,

Help With GPS
Ready for adventure? The Honda Trip Planner makes it easy to get where you’re going, whether it’s on the streets or offroad.
Is my GPS compatible with the Honda Trip Planner? The Honda Trip Planner is compatible with advanced GPS units that have the ability to record and display trips using GPX files.  If you have a 2012 Honda Gold Wing, your GPS unit is compatible with the Honda Trip Planner.

Yeah, I read that too.  Gold Wing GPS works, latest model of Garmin does NOT.

As far as I am concerned, it is a useless utility UNLESS you are riding a Gold Wing.

Pretty sure the Garmins will use GPX. Here is one link for tips and I know there are many more. I'm a long shot from expert on these, though.  http://home.comcast.net/~ghayman3/garmin.gps/pagepoi.02.htm

Looks interesting, but maybe someone can tell me how it's better than using Google maps directly.  I was hoping to see more trip friendly, or motorcycle friendly features, but either I'm missing them, or they're not there.
