I've got about 35K miles on the Valkyrie Interstate and had it tuned up about 15K ago.  It has always started a little rough in cool weather, but with a little choke, starts ok, sputters a little but then levels out fine, and idles normal.  I am getting ready to take a 2K trip, and am curious if there is a good fuel additive I should use to see if it improves the start or just get a tune up?  The local honda dealer got my attention when he said a tune job could run anywhere from $150-500.  He was quick to point out $500 ceiling was for one that hardly runs.....but biz may be slow.

I've done a lot of mods on the bike, but a tune is probably beyond my job description.

Any suggestions on the additive?

Most guys seem to like Seafoam, and/or techron.

If it's running good now, it will be running better about 50 miles into that 2K mile trip. There are other things you should probably look at, rather than the engine.

My local dealer recommends adding Startron with every tank. It's an enzyme treatment that is supposed to neutralize the effects of ethanol.
