A lot of folks (including me) have been satisfied customers of Ken Heming.

I do not know about the ebay alternators, but an alternator for a 1500 Goldwing will fit on a Valkrie.  I picked up a used one on ebay for $68 (including shipping) back in 2009.  I have it as a spare (after testing it on the bike).

Hi Hoser --i bought a high out put from ken last augest --the volt reg. went out this april he replaced it but it caused alot of problems -he has ones just for the valkyrie-- the goldwing alt. will work but you need to turn the mounting bracket --call ken he has the right one in stock --

hoser:

I had BigBF put one of Kens High Output Alternators on my 97 Purple bike at Inzane in Colorado while we were there.  Still running good.  Remember though, the HO version does not kick in charging at as low of rpm's as the standard.  If you do much parade type riding, it may be a problem.  However, once the rpm's go up, it will charge real good!
