I have not been in the cage (other than a trip to the dealer for warranty work, and 1 trip to the gas station to fill it up for the mother-in-law) since the 1st week of June.
It's 100 here today... and I have to go to the gym. So when I get done... I'll have poached gray matter in my skull. But I am still riding. I have been wearing the full face helmet, leather gloves and a mesh, Joe Rocket Phoenix jacket ALL the time. even in the 90F+ days.
High of 75 on Monday!!

I didn't ride to work but I did get out last night with a couple friends: My "Bloodriders" Rich and Eddie (Eddie's the fat blond one) and their Valks... As we were on our way down I remember thinking that I was forgetting something. Then I remembered that I was going to extend another invite to MacDragon who lives not too far from where we meet. Figured with any luck he'd show anyway. Not this time but the invite's open Mac.

Haven't been posting here, but I too have been riding to work almost everyday in full gear since sometime in May I think. I am usually gone a couple of days when I go out so it looks like I am travelling all the time!! Best thing I have been doing, it's about 20 miles one way so I have been getting lots of miles in compared to the last couple of years. I intend to keep it up all through the winter, unless it ices or snows. 52+ days over a hundred it's been warm for sure. I rode home the other night at 10:30 pm it was still 98, are you kidding me. Sweating in the dark is just not right! Stay and Ride Safe everyone.

On the plus side:
I woke up on the green side of the lawn. I'm employed. I got to ride my Valk today. The temperature was UNDER 100 degrees!
On the negative side:
I'm working, on the Sunday of a holiday weekend. Such is the life of IT Operations...
Overall, I think the plus column overshadows the negative column!

The news last night was a buzz with area tornado sightings. We had scattered showers and one or two rough moments. Awoke this morning with power and without damage sot hat is a plus. When I walked into my room at work the power went out, but came back on. After resetting computers and servers all is well. Later I noticed a warning email that we're still under a tornado watch. So I suppose we'll see how that turns out today. I'm currently watching the skies from my office window. I'm currently noticing that this a big window and that I have very little exterior wall in my office. It is mostly window. Interesting that I never really noticed before.
At the moment the clouds are moving quick but the skies are blue. I can see smokers outside and they look dry and content at the moment.
I rode in without getting wet. I figure I'll be soaked on the ride home. 'Tis life.
I think after work I'm heading to the bar to hang out with friends for a while. I'll be the only person on a bike there, but it'll be fun.
Commute to ride, ride to commute.

I rode for about 10 miles this morning, then pulled over and popped a jacket out of the bag. Going on three weeks of riding it 90 miles round trip everyday to work and I'll take the 55 o over 105 o any day.

Back in July Eddie and I went for a ride on that 100 degree day. We headed to the coast figuring it'd be cooler. Well eff me running if it wasn't even HOTTER at the beach. It was miserable and we called it a day early. I've got my heated gear on the way, now I guess in the spring I'll order my air conditioned suit.

Rode in this morning and almost stopped and put the jacket liner on! Man it was nice out. It will be 90 deg. on the way home, but only 18% humidity! Will seem like 80. Hay Jimmyt

Temps in the high 40's low 50's the last couple of days and that made the ride to work Great! It was especially nice when leaving that the temps only got to the mid 60's and with the humidity low the ride home was just as enjoyable.

Must have sent that great weather our way, ChromeDome! 52 when I hopped on the bike to come home this morning, 54 when I left for work last night. Gotta love it!!
Of course, the air conditioning broke down, for the climate controlled computer room that I stay in, and it was probably well over 80 in there, sweating up a storm. Guess I just can't get away from it!! The building's guy came in 1/2 hour before I left, and got it working...
However, supposed to rain the next 3 days - low of 55. Not sure if I want to chance 55° rain!
Willow - you had to say that, didn't you?!?

I'm here at work on a beautiful day. Luckily I left early and took the long way. It's in the 60s this morning with a high in the 80s. When I leave tonight it should feel really nice. At least the ride in was good.

Rode to work today - not an unusual occurence fro me tho. What was amazing was the difference in the quality of the ride. Almost like riding a new Valk!!! And all I had to do was change the UJoint, the Drive shaft, the final drive, the rear wheel dampers and new shock busings.

It has been an odd morning.
Per usual I got up this morning and took care of the laundry and then left for work. The ride in was nice. The car in front of me decided to think about every possible left turn for a while, but eventually found one that suited him and left the traffic. The weather was good. The sun was bright.
I made it to work and was going about my routine when my wife called in a panic. She is recently unemployed and expecting a final pay check from her last employer. It hasn't arrived but Saturday we had a pick up slip on a certified letter from her employer. We assumed it was her last pay which she has been following up trying to get them to pay.
She picked up a letter this morning but it wasn't a check. It was a letter explaining that she was not laid off but instead she had declined a job offer within the company and she had quit.
She called me in a panic. Together we crafted an email. She sent it. Then they replied that it was a mistake. Too many recent layoffs and they'd messed up. She printed that email off just in case, but is now hounding them again for the pay. Fortunately, it was a mistake and should not effect her unemployment benefit.
That was a rough little bit.
I headed out for lunch. The sun is still shining and the weather is still good.
My wife won't be home when I get off work so I have no reason to head straight home. I think today will be a longer return trip.

I work morning and evening with a hole in my day where I'm not truly getting paid. I've been sitting at my desk and working through that hole. Burning gas to leave would be fun but would also add up eventually. So I usually work. Except yesterday. Yesterday my wife picked me up and we went to lunch together. Then I accompanied her to the dr. Everything is fine. It made the day feel much much shorter. I'm going to have to find a way to get away from my desk more often.
This morning it is cool to the point of chilly and breezy. I may finally put on a jacket to ride to work today.

Several people have asked me how I like the cold weather today. It was 57 when I left the house this morning and is in the uppser 60s now. What cold weather? I have yet to put on a jacket but today I did ride wearing a sweater vest. It is getting close to sweater vest weather again. It might rain, but it didn't. I was hanging out at home this morning and realized my wife was not getting up until after I left. So, I left early instead of sitting quietly "alone" in the house. That gave me extra time to take a little longer path to work. Other than a quick trip around the block for lunch, which I ate at my desk, the ride home will be my only escape. I need to lengthen that a few miles too. Commute to ride, ride to commute.

I left the house early, just after sun up, so I could get to work and dry out before work started. I barely made it home last night before the rain started at 2:00am. Up at 6:00am it was still raining steady. The weather folk on TV say this will be here for a few days.
I left early and took my time and had a nice wet ride.
As I was riding to work in the rain it occured to me this is the first time this fall I've been soaked geting to work. It hasn't rained more than a stray shower here in quite a while. We missed huricane rain, tornado rain, and earth quake rain in the past month. We've been dry. So, I'm excited to see the rain streaking down my office window. I'll ride home carefully later night.
At the moment. I'm just enjoying being in the building watching it rain.
I also like watching people try to run from their cars to their buildings as if they will melt.
Commute to ride, ride to commute.

I love the 55 degree temps now, but I don't like it getting dark so soon. I drive a mile and a half on dirt, then 24 miles on 2 lane back roads. No traffic, just deer. Had too many close calls on the bike and have hit way over a dozen in my car or truck. This time of year they seem to come alive at dusk in the road. When it gets dark I wont drive even 50 mph.

45 degrees on the way in and supposed to be 72 on the way home. Love this time of year. Some of the folks here are surprised when I come in on the bike when it's in the 40's. I tell them that as long as it's 1. above 30F 2. The driveway is dry and 3. Blue sky is showing. I'm riding to work. Generally, i will accept 2 out of 3. I don't like to ride to work in the rain. Too big of a hassle to put on that much gear to stay dry and don't want to be damp all day at the hospital. Going home in the rain isn't that big of a deal.

As I got to work this morning, I was thinking that I will never have to have a face lift as long as I keep driving a bike when it's cold out. At 40 degrees my face was tight enough to play a tune on it.

Once again I left my wife asleep in bed and headed to work. I'm here earlier than I need to be but at least I dodged the rain. It is a grey and gloomy sunrise but I'm here and dry. I'm breakfasting on a bottle of Sun Drop this morning. They have become a part of the morning routine again. I need to cut back. Every time I think I've given up the sodas I find myself with a desk full of empty bottles. Commute to ride, ride to commute.

But, I'd be HAPPY to ride in the rain right now, we need it BAD!

I remembered most of what I needed as I left for work this morning. I forgot to grab my jacket. Somewhere on the ride I realized I didn't need it anyway. It is mostly clear and in the 80s out there. It is making it hard to work.

I sit in my office when I could go home or run errands in the middle of the day because I'm trying to save gas. I am saving gas but I'm not being any more productive. The list of things I need to do is getting longer than the list of things that I have done. The front tire will make it home and to commute tomorrow. The first of next week I have two days off so I'll pull the wheel and replace the tire then.
Hope everyone is still working hard and commuting happily.
