Only 29 degrees when I rode in this morning...but headed towards 60 for the afternoon.  Supposed to be close to 70 by mid-week.  Looks like a good week of riding/commuting.  cooldude

I didn't work on Friday, so the Valk remained parked. I also remained parked on the couch most of the day.
Saturday my little sister turned 15, so I helped get ready for the hayride birthday party. The Valk remained parked.
Sunday was beautiful. The skies were clear. My wife thought it was cold, but I disagreed. When we went out to the car show I wanted to take the Valk. My wife wanted to take the hearse. The Valk remained parked.

Finally, Monday morning rolled around and I could hop on the bike and go to work!  30 degrees. Light frost warning. The roads were fine, but I probably should have scraped my wife's windshield for her. I deffinately should have had on another pair of gloves.

I took off in that odd twilight where headlights wash out the world. So that wasn't fun, but luckily the sun kept creeping up and fixed the problem soon.

The day is shaping up and warming up. I should be able to enjoy the ride from here to there as I leave this campus in a little while and head to the next.

I"m back in the cold saddle again.

BRRR, cold down there. 52 for me this morning with 72 forecast for the afternoon ride.

We're having our "Indian summer" this week. thunderstorms for Wednesday. Now where did Indian summer come from? Is that just a local Kansas term or do "ya'll" have them too?

I took the day off on Sunday but went in when a medic got sick. It was 16 more hours overtime ontop of the other OT that week so that was nice. Rode to work there at 3p and was very pleasent. Left there and rode 7 blocks to my other job this morning. It was cold, 34 deg. Rode home tonight and it was awesome riding weather. 54 ish out. 15 miles from home I flipped a u-turn in the road and decided to take the long way home via the interstate. It was nice. Music playing, some chew in, 80 mph, and feet on the hiway pegs. Only saw 2 other bikes in my 35 mile jount and 1 Bear.

Much nicer this am than yesterday, not nearly as cold.  It was one of those mornings where I wished I lived farther from work...just a nice ride in, but only about 8 miles.  I leave just before 7am and it is starting to be pretty dark out for the morning commute, and the ride home at 5:30 has the sun low enough that it is right in your eyes.  That makes me glad I have the Symax 2 helmet with the sun shield.

36* when I left home this morning, but the sky was clear and the roads dry. It's supposed to hit about 66 today, so lunch time and the ride home will be nice.
It's just good to have work to ride too again. Supposed to be a little warmer and still clear tomorrow, so I am already looking forward to the ride in tomorrow.

I haven't ridden to work in several weeks, but now my bike is back together, so I rode this morning,
through a heavy fog, probably around 45 or so... it will get up to 75 today, and for the next few days...

I rode in this morning. Really need to grab some gloves, but it wasn't too bad.
Hit a wall of fog that was down right impressive near a small pond, but otherwise clear cool roads.
Commuting does make the day better.
Today is a three commute day. Seems like all I do most weeks is commute right now. I've commuted from home to one campus, then to a second campus. I'll leave here and go to a different college all together across the county to start something new. From sun up to sun down I'll be working somewhere. At least I get to ride a little in the day light in between.
Commute to ride, ride to commute.

57 here this morning...WAY to cold to ride, I might get frostbite! Went home at noon and brought the Interstate back the 12 1/2 miles to work.  Now it's in the lower 70's and windy.  I'm getting attached to this Interstate (crummy carbs and all).  Might decide not to sell it.

Rode the 12 1/2 miles home yesterday and when I finally got home it was 75 miles (maybe I got lost on the way home).  Great riding weather yesterday!

Might be the last one of the year. 46 degrees, scattered clouds. Traffic was a mess (for Fort Wayne - those of you in real cities would laugh).

Looking forward to the ride home this evening. Should be >70 degrees. Maybe I'll take the really long way home.  Wink

Freshmen.  I was prepared to begin class when I realized that my students weren't prepared. I refused to do the class without them having done their part, so I've thrown them out. That's two classes in a row that were not prepared. So it has been a quiet morning.

I'm meeting a former student after lunch today. I was his mentor in high school. I was proud that we got him out of high school, but he has been aimless since. I keep in touch with him occasionally via email so I know he has tried college a few times. He emailed last night to see if we could get together, he has some questions about student loans, etc. So this could be a special day, or a frustrating day.

Not just another day at the office, but another day commuting around on the motorcycle.

It's a pretty day. 40 this morning on the ride in, but it looks like a cool 60 this afternoon is possible. Should be nice.

_____________________________________________________________________________
Had a chat with my former mentee a bit ago. His focus is staying in college this time, so that went well. He is still aimless. We'll have to chat about that later. At least we're staying in touch. It is times like that that I know it is worth coming to work.

Four for four this week. Today is my last day of commuting this week, I have tomorrow off which is nice. The weather promises to be good tomorrow too, but I have to much to do inside to catchup on thinks that I've been putting off. Dangit! So I'll be stuck inside.

At least I can enjoy the last pretty day riding around this week as I go from job to job.

Four for four for me this week also. Yesterday, I even got to put about 100 company miles on going to look at a bridge project that the turnpike is going to replace.  And since it hit the low 70's here, it was nice.  Supposed to hit 70+ again today.  Then I'm off tomorrow and all weekend.  And of course, the weather is going to take a crap starting tomorrow with colder temps and lots of rain.  It figures.  tickedoff

Got in 3 out of 5 this week. Mon had the company truck home, and today I was off for a drill and fill. Was going to ride to the fang doc as soon as I got out of the garage, it started raining.

It's been a while, but I can finally say that I rode to work and home today, about 41 degrees both way. I only get one day a week to ride, since I'm performing my civic duty in downtown Boston 4 days a week, and parking  is non-existent or expensive. It was wonderful to be Valking, and Sunday could be a just for fun ride. C U next week...

Its gonna be 47 here and suppose to stop raining. I heard cars go by and the sound of water on the road as I laid in bed. Looked outside and saw it was wet but no rain. cool. Washed the bike on wed for its winter nap, but decided a little road water won't hurt. Leathered up and walked outside. Ah faaaaa its raining!  Angry Huh, gotta be there in 20 min, might as well ride.  Undecided Figure i can wash it here at work.

So I thought it was going to start off as a nice day this morning. The temps were crisp at 45ish degrees, but it should warm up today.
I was looking forward to the day.
Then, before I was able to get out of the house, my wife decided to get mad at me because she couldn't find the pants she wanted to wear. Not my fault, but hey, sometimes frustration happens.
It is nice how a crisp ride can make a person feel better.
I'm at work today. Not a bad day so far overall.

For a minute, I thought you rode to work without pants... 2funny 2funny 2funny

I rode in today as well...sort of fell in behind a sportster....sloghtly older guy...I would say early 60's anyway...he rode like he has never ridden a bike in his life....skeered the carp out of me for him...hope he makes it to his destination...

After we parted ways, my ride was brisk and beautiful...39° rolling out of the house this morning...I love riding in the cold weather...

This morning the spousal unit ask two questions.  To each of which I gave an incorrect response.  She asked, "What's the temperature?" and "Will those gloves keep your hands warm?"

I replied, "Forty degrees.  They're my cool weather gloves.  They'll do just fine."

The time and temp at my first right turn was reporting thirty-four degrees.  It's a little odd for the local thermometer and the weather site to display such a wide disparity.

On the west edge of Olathe where the road drops about a hundred feet next to the lake I met a fog that looked like a solid wall.  As we moved west I began to notice first that the hay bales seemed to have a frost topping and then that the grass was taking on the appearance of moonlight.

I stopped about twenty miles out and switched to my cold weather gloves.  I was already wearing a good winter jacket and three layers on my legs.

It was a brisk ride.  When I arrived at the office I checked the weather again.  It was reporting thirty degrees in Topeka, but still insisting that Olathe, some sixty miles east, was at forty degrees.

It was a good day to ride.  It was an especially good day to own the proper gear for riding in near freezing temps.

58 degrees and only slightly damp. Not a bad day to run from campus to campus. The rain is a steady heavy cloud resting without being thick enough to be fog.
