I live outside Vancouver BC Canada. I purchased a 1999 Interstate in California in early April 2011. I rode it home with no problems. I did all the paperwork to export it from the US and import it into Canada it with no problems. The bike has clear California title. When i went to register it in BC, i found out it has a 'junk' status tagged to it from Pennsilvania!!
The insurance company in BC will not let me register it.
I have tried to contact California DMV to ask why it appears it was allowed to be registered in Ca. I have also tried ocntaction Pennsilvania DOT to determine the title history and try to get the 'junk' status removed.
Any other ideas as what to do.
I do have the option to purchase a new frame and do a complete transfer to the new frame and get rebuilt status here in BC. Alot of work that realistically, doesnt need t be done.
BTW, i put it on Craigslist for $7,000 if anyone s interested and may have better luck in their state.
