Has anyone done a complete re-wire on the Valk???

I been working on a diagram to cut as much of the wiring out as possible (while keeping basic safety functions like kickstand and clutch).

Reason being, I don't like everything running through those tiny run/start buttons on the bars... those should be relayed into the system... and I don't like a 30 amp fuse on a 16 gauge wire... 30 amps should be 12 gauge minimum (I have the melted plastics for proof).

So, has it been done before?  I'm curious about how the neutral and clutch on the ECM work... are they just looking for a ground?

I'm thinking a row of 4 or 5 relays (10 amp), a Toyota 2.0L starter solenoid/relay, and a bunch of wire (12-16 gauge) would be a good start.

With a broken collar bone... it would give me something to do while healing.   uglystupid2

I think a detailed look at a Valkyrie wiring diagram would reveal the difficulty you will encounter trying what you suggest.

I have taken a VERY detailed look at the diagram... studied it, in fact.

The big question is the neutral and side stand connections on the ECM... all I can figure is that the ECM is looking for a ground on these connections??  And at least one of them has to be grounded for the bike to remain running?  (Clutch OR Neutral for the starter to function.)

you can defeat both these switches by grounding.....you can try it out to validate, but I know a few owners have bypassed their kickstand switch by this method when their switches failed.

It is my understanding that those two switches are seeking a ground.
